PS3 (Guide) Jailbreaking With Bgtoolset

This guide was truly helpful!

However, between 4 and 5 it could be mentioned the option available to apply the patch after downloading it.

The ps3toolset website is returning error 80710a06 whatever I set it as http or https. In fact, it is switching to https even if I set it to http.
I've seen other users are reporting the same in multiple places recently.

I posted about this on the other thread earlier.

The certificate was updated yesterday (Thu, 04 Jul 2024 09:58:25 GMT) and was issued by Google Trust Services. The root certificate for this CA is presumably not present on any OFW, and I am experiencing the same error on 4.91.

@bguerville, I'd suggest that the automatic HTTPS redirect be disabled for now, since it may be a little quicker to do than going through the rigamarole of getting a cert from another CA.

Sadly, it doesn't appear that Flash Writer was updated for 4.91, so it seems we're stuck for now.

Any update on this? Went to get started today and this issue is still present.

Currently still down, this is the latest status:

The CA Root certificate has been included on ofw since 4.84 at least otherwise https access would never have been possible for the past 2 years.
But all SSL stuff is getting upgraded everywhere so glitches like this are more and more common..
Like I said already I will look at this at the weekend, I am NOT going to change the website configuration on a whim, even temporarily...

This will hopefully be addressed by the end of the weekend.

hello.. I'm new to this, but my question is the following. I have a ps3 slim and it qualifies for the cfw, and the truth is that I tried to install evilnat but when I try to enter the bootle that is from the ps3xploit.me website, when I enter the tool I get the screen with error 80710a06. I followed all the steps, I made sure I had the time indicated, I reset the PS3 several times and I can't use the tool. I hope you can help me please

Hay una manera de instalar CFW de manera sencilla, ya que tengo una laptop y no tengo conexión a red por cable, y solo es vía wifi(CFW 4.91)

There is a way to install CFW easily, since I have a laptop and I do not have a wired network connection, and it is only via wifi (CFW 4.91)

MOD Edit: Next time, provide an English translation to your message. This is an English-only forum, as stated in the forum rules.

I noticed on the ps3xploit.me page there is an SSL injector tool... could we not utilise this to add in the new CA root cert after enabling HEN?

Hi everyone, I'm new, a friend gave me his PS3 and I wanted to jailbreak it.
I followed a guide found online on YouTube instead of visiting the forum (yes I know I was stupid).
Everything was fine until I had to apply the downloaded patch with PS3Toolset.
The console remained as if hibernated for more than 60 minutes on the verification screen of the correct installation of the patch giving me 100% write and 99% verification.
I imagined that there was no more hope and that the console had become a brick.
I turned off the console and to my surprise it restarted and checked the file system and went back to work.
I was trying to repeat the operation again and realized that I had not disabled the request to close the browser page and probably this step could have been the problem.
One thing I noticed is that on Ps3toolset now at the top right instead of being written "Custom Syscall:No"
now it says "Custom Syscall:CFW.
Was the patch installation successful?
Now I don t know whether to try again the installation of the patch via Ps3tools or try to install the CFW of Evilnat.
My doubt is this, do I risk a problem if I try to install the CFW ? Can I have problems if I try to do the PS3tools procedure again?
Thank you all!

I would first check that the HDD is fine. Those hangs and hard locks are strange.

But yes, try installing CFW Evilnat. If everything goes without errors, then the patch was applied successfully.

When it reaches "verifying" it means it's already completed the patch. Verifying means it's just reading the data back to verify that it's been written successfully. If the console booted after a power cycle it means it's properly patched. You can try installing Evilnat.
If your HDD is dying then you might want to replace it though before you flash CFW. If you do this, do not jailbreak again. After you replace the HDD and it asks for firmware (assuming it's a NOR model), immediately install CFW.

Thank you very much, honestly I don't know if the disk is ruined, during the technical examination of ps3tool it did not give me any error.
I would have an ssd to be able to put in it, I read that it makes the console faster, I had thought of making the change later, but from what I have read now I think it is better to do it before installing the CFW because I saw that you have to reinstall the OFW after replacing the hard disk.
Did I understand correctly?
So as you advised me it is better to replace the disk immediately so as to install the CFW directly
My console is a Slim with CECH-2004A serial.
As for the CF I saw that the last one is the beta10, for amateur use (I have to play the backup copies because the blu ray does not work) what type would be appropriate to install? D-Pex or Pex.
Thanks again.

If you had CFW or applied the bgtoolset patch prior to replacing the HDD you don't have to revert back to OFW. Just put a disk with CFW when it asks for firmware and it should install fine. Unless your HDD is dying, it would be recommended to install CFW first though, because you don't want to do things that are hardly tested, even if they are expected to work on paper.
You need PEX. D-PEX is only for debug systems (whether true DECH or consoles already converted to DEX via CFW).

Hi folks, need your help.
I have a ps3 slim cech 2504b date code 0c, minver states 3.4. I updated to 4.91 ofw, created new user, bookmarked ps3tools cleaned history/cache and opened from bookmark ps3tools. I don't get any comment regarding flash, log shows in orange "waiting for the ps3 flash player 9 plug in" then continues with lines "ps3 fp9 plug in..." and stating "... Ps3 flash 9 BA exploit loaded successfully.."
But when I click on system manager it shows checkmark for cfw compatible but lists errors (32) and no further actions possible.

In the system manager tab, at the bottom there is a list of the syscon errorlog. 32 error slots that the system records of any errors are encountered. These have nothing to do with the jailbreak. They are just stored on the syscon eeprom and accessed by bgtoolset as a convenient way to check this errorlog.

As long as the console is stable, not YLOD intermittantly, then you can jailbrrak as normal. If it were to YLOD at the wrong time during the jailbreak, if could brick. So checking that errorlog for issues that indicate it might be at risk of YLOD is advisable.

I assume this is what you meant by "errors."

I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong place, please let me know. I feel like I'm not good at forums. Short story long, I ran across some videos by RIP-Felix and I had to unpack some of my old PS3's that have been in hibernation. The first one I decided to tackle needs the disc drive married. It's a CECHA01 running original firmware v4.80.

As best as I can tell I'll need to jailbreak in order to use factory service mode to marry a drive (if there is an alternative I'm all ears). Tonight I decided to stop looking for answers I can't find and just follow some instructions from MrMario2011 using CFW 4.91.2 Evilnat Cobra 8.5 [CEX] [noBD]. Yet again more questions.
I tried to set the clock by internet. It won't let me do that-says I need to update first. Maybe I need v4.82 to update the clock via internet, but if so then why is the option even there in 4.80? What is the significance of the internet clock for bgtoolset? What could or will go wrong? Can I just manually set it? I assume it needs a new CMOS battery and I hear bad things if that's the case. Can I proceed with jailbreaking with a bad battery or do I need to replace it first? And if so, why?

I'd like to go back to the original v4.80 after the drive works-mainly for no reason other than my own ignorance. So I have some questions about that along with transferring Blu-ray digital rights files after marrying and a few other questions about this console. Should I find a more appropriate thread for those questions or post here? Thanks in advance!

First of all, if your BD drive is broken or missing, DON'T UPDATE THE FW!!!

Set your console's date and time manually and apply the flash patch with BgToolset.

Once you've done that and restarted your console, then proceed to install CFW noBD. Don't worry about the version, you can downgrade to FW 4.80 once you are on any CFW.

Do one step at a time and come back with your status if need help :)
