PS3 Half-CFW or smth? After PS3-Slim reset

I've switched from 4.81 OFW to Rebug CFW a year ago and all worked great..
My brother recently reset the console. Now it's starting with the REBUG logo and I've got Debug Settings, but nothing else. No PKG Manager and stuff like that, there are a few other folders with stars, but nothing interesting/useful

So like, what to do to get the "real" CFW back? I'm seeing right now, i could've posted it in the support section

You can just install latest rebug from xmb, if you cant access system update icon, use recovery mode. You can get the PUP here:

Download the text file at the bottom of that page for the pup link, download the pup, put it on a FAT32 USB drive in folders and named like this:

USB:/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP

All capitals.

Download REX if that is what you are on. Use D-REX if your console is fully convert to DEX (Debug), try REX first. If that will not install, try D-REX.

That's what I tried, the latest and also the one I've installed before ( even tho my console was DEX, I tried REX and D-REX ).. Made a FAT32 USB, did PS3/UPDATE and put the renamed PS3UPDAT.PUP in it..

I think your bro updated your PS3 via internet and it's only updated partially. I advise you to update the firmware to 4.84.2 HFW then downgare your PS3 again..

I think his coreOS is updated so he won't be able to install CFW.

That makes no sense, DEX can't be updated via Internet. I think you converted back to CEX and got your PS3 updated via Internet.

That makes no sense, DEX can't be updated via Internet. I think you converted back to CEX and got your PS3 updated via Internet.

the system update menu is showing me
- Update via Internet
Update via Storage Media
- * Update via System Storage
- * Delete Update Data on System Storage

every entry with minus is outgreyed

Sounds like were on a CFW, then installed a patch pup over it. So now you have a hybrid.

If Rebug 4.84.2 REX or D-REX wont install from recovery mode, just install 4.84 HFW twice, and then use ps3xploit 2.0.1 to patch your flash and allow CFW to install again. Make sure to follow all the steps.
