HAN Toolbox

PS3 HAN Toolbox v0.14 Unofficial

Hi!

You're very welcome! I'll keep doing it until everything about HAN stops, I think. To help those who want HAN for any reason.

Now... ?????????????? How is that even possible??? Don't worry at all. It's not your fault. It's mine. I don't really know why though. I checked the things and they should work just fine (I -->checked<--, I didn't test haha, only on OFW 4.82 as I saw on the Overview, because I'm still on that one, not really knowing why, maybe because I don't want to have work updating even though it's really fast? It's stupid, I know hahaha). Weird. Then I'll have to check all of them again..... hahahahaha. Thank you for pointing it out!!! While I don't release a fixed version (my apologies, might take some days, as I'm busy studying), please use the online version on HAN Functions --> Online HAN Functions --> HAN Enabler. That one will work perfectly. It's from PS3Xploit site, so it must work. I was already getting ready to release one because I forgot to check the toolbox on DEX and seems it was not working completely, so 0.9.1 is already as "NOT COMPLETED" on GitHub. Seems it will have some more fixes on the changelog... hahaha (not a good sign though haha)

EDIT: wait. Just to be sure. Could you try the online version on PS3Xploit site? (by going to v3 HAN Tools and then HAN Enabler) If still doesn't work, maybe you made some mistake installing HAN? If it works perfectly, then I'll check them all again hahaha.

Thank you! I really appreciate it. My reason is that I believe HAN feels less risky when it comes to bans. Although I am not the person that should even comment on that as I am a complete noob, however I do read people (such as above) think the same too.

I can get HAN enabled through PS3Xploit website just fine. (v3 HAN Tools > HAN Enabler) Also does it matter which pkg file I install? (Unofficial_EN.pkg vs Unofficial_EN_HAN_signed.pkg) I tried both unfortunately both of them freezes.

Good luck with your studies!

Crap... Then it's actually my fault. Not good, since I just found out I released a faulty thing hahaha - wow XD. Thank you again for saying!

It doesn't matter at all which PKG you choose. It's just I was just creating a PKG as Debug. So you would need to enable Debug Packages. But there was someone who asked how to install it because they were enabling HAN and couldn't install the toolbox. Then DeViL303 told me it needed to be signed for HAN to be installed with HAN enabled. So from that point, I started making 2 PKGs. One to use with Debug Packages enabled and the other one to use with HAN enabled. But they're both the exact same thing, it's just how they're installed that is different.

Thank you and have a good one!

EDIT: Do you know if there are more options not working? For example, maybe Debug Packages is not working too? Because they use the same thing which I copied. Maybe the temperature checker should be fine, along with the Flash Mounters? (if you decide to try those, don't worry as they won't do anything harmful to the PS3 - after you reboot, it's completely back to normal, as they just enable access to the PS3 internal memory while you don't reboot) I wonder why this isn't working..... Crap, I'll run some tests to see if I can put my life easier when I tried to optimize some things - maybe the same that broke the enabler hahaha.

Hello,

Offline Debug Package Enabler on the main menu seems to work? No freezes at all. However the one same option in "HAN Functions" menu freezes up my PS3. Also I can't run my .pkg games with Debug. I assume I'd only need HAN for them?

Offline Flash Mounters and Temperature Checker doesn't work unfortunately. It just sits at loading. They don't freeze your PS3 like HAN enabler though.

Functions like hard restart, soft restart, shutdown work perfectly whether you have HAN enabled or not.

I also found out a bug on "What's New" browser. It works fine but when you close the browser "too quick" like 0-10 seconds while the news are loading, PS3 gets frozen. I tried with and without HAN, no difference.

Thanks!

????? Weird. They use the same ammount of things. I just copy-pasted for both of them. Hmm........... Yep, I'll review everything again. Wow hahaha. To answer you, Debug PKG is just to install. You don't run Debug packages. To run games, only HAN is needed (or not even needed if you use CFW2OFW, which puts them not needing HAN at all).

Offline Flash Mounters and Temperature Checker doesn't work unfortunately. It just sits at loading. They don't freeze your PS3 like HAN enabler though.
The Flash Mounters are supposed to take a bit. But they're also supposed to work in the end. At least they do with me - unless they have wrong things on them too........... The Temperature Checker should also work and be fast - unless again, it has wrong things... But there's also a thing. lmn7 (the offline scripts creator) told me they're very unstable while offline. They may work perfectly in some PS3s and not in others, but it's more rare. So I'll check everything in this damn thing hahaha. If it still doesn't work, then either I made some mistake again (I'll make sure I don't), or it's one of those cases where it doesn't work on some PS3s. On mine all tools except the Flash Mounters are fast. And all work, including the mounters (just those take more time - but not more than a minute).

Functions like hard restart, soft restart, shutdown work perfectly whether you have HAN enabled or not.
What the heck....... Also, HAN is only needed if you need to install or run PKGs/games. Debug PKGs is only needed to enable if you install Debug packages. All functions don't need any other enabled to work, they're independent.

I also found out a bug on "What's New" browser. It works fine but when you close the browser "too quick" like 0-10 seconds while the news are loading, PS3 gets frozen. I tried with and without HAN, no difference.

About that, I've also noticed it. But I believe it's from the PS3 itself. The code I put on the PS3 is really small. It doesn't have any real work with it, it's really small, so it shouldn't freeze. But offline things are not very stable on the PS3, so that must be the problem. I'm afraid I can't fix that one. Sony might be the only one, which is not gonna do it hahahahaha.

Thank you for the so complete report!!!

EDIT (always an edit hahaha): since you mentioned the What's New thing, what do you think of it? Any ideas you might have to improve it? (or not that good - no problem at all, it's just for me to know what you'd think about it, if you want)

Yeah, this is a common bug even on OFW with no mods, if you enter and exit the browser too quickly it freezes, sometimes just with infinite wave.

All then is with the browser. I thought it was with offline scripts. Cool to know. Thanks!

Just to put here, this is what I've put on What's New on Browser as the "always-first" news and also on the Update Toolbox part as an "update" (what came to my mind to let people know what to do hahaha):
- Offline HAN Enabler seems not to be working for at least HFW/CFW 4.86. Please use the online enabler on HAN Functions --> Online HAN Functions until I release a new version with it fixed. I'm sorry, that might take a bit, because I really busy studying and it takes much time to check everything again (and actually do it from zero). But use the online enabler which works just fine.

- I'm sorry about this, it shouldn't happen. Hopefully was the last time, as I was told I was doing the version check (to support all versions) in a way that was not necessary and just complicates things. So from now on I'll do it as I wanted in the beggining but I was not sure about it, so I made the hard way.

Do not pay attention to this message. It's just for me to make random tests when I want before sending messages (I write too much and I need to know how the message is before sending it and this lets me edit messages for infinity hahaha) - I'll keep a link to it, so I know where to find it, so anyone can write bellow this thing without any problem.

DADi590 updated HAN Toolbox with a new update entry:

HAN Toolbox v0.10 Unofficial

- New Debug Packages Enabler and (partial) HAN Enabler added!!! (thanks lmn7 for the script! ;-) ) READ THIS HERE, IT'S NOT AS YOU MIGHT THINK --> This enabler will enable the ability to run HAN licensed games and will allow Debug PKGs to be installed - which means you activate 2 in 1. It will NOT activate the installation of HAN resigned PKGs, though!!! To install those PKGs, please use the old HAN Enabler as you normally would. The Debug Packages Enabler is now removed from the main folder...

Read the rest of this update entry...

Note: wrong PKG, so I posted it again.

Does it work on hfw 4.86 HEN 3.0.1?
Not sure why you'd want HAN Toolbox on HEN, except maybe to enable HAN alone and maybe be safer than enabling HEN, but anyways, read the 3rd note on the Overview. You must edit a file (category_game.xml). I have them modified on my MediaFire account.

As a curiosity, I was thinking in the idea of having a modification of HEN Toolbox with HAN Toolbox already inside it for people who'd like to enable only HAN and not HEN (or just Debug PKGs). But it's only an idea, and I'm not sure if there are security improvements on enabling only HAN with HEN installed - would you know @bguerville?

Anyways, that I know of, it should work since HEN has HAN already installed.

HAN is just as easy to detect as HEN or CFW so in theory, choosing between HAN or HEN doesn't make much of a difference when it comes to security.
Of course HEN is closer to CFW so typical CFW detection methods would be more likely to detect HEN & less likely to detect HAN.

But all this is theory, in practice, if HEN was really so ban prone that using HAN was always preferable, we would be alerted by regular user reports..

As a general rule, people should just be cautious when gaming online with COD/BO2 & GTA on any kind of modified firmware, as those games seem to be responsible for the majority of bans.

¿Se actualizará para HAN 4.87? Gracias.

Will it be updated for HAN 4.87? Thanks.
Hi. Yes, it will. Though, it will take me time to do it. I won't be home for a month at least. And when I get back, I'm still not sure I'll have time to update the toolbox. Though, please use the Online Functions on it. I think they should work, since they use the PS3Xploit website directly and nothing from the toolbox itself (some might not work because the site is outdated in parts, but I haven't tried). Sorry, I've been having some issues with organizing my study... I could update it while on at home, but I can't test it then. So it could be released not working for some versions or something.

EDIT: Unless I try to update it in a bit of a hurry right now since it's the last day at home and I'm in my study break (no more for today). It's 20:37 here. Let's if I can do it quickly haha. Though, a little change in the code of the functions and they may or may not become unstable. If the PS3 helps here and gets stable in the first try, well, amazing haha. If not, well, what I said above applies, since I won't have much time here, I guess. I'm up at 8h tomorrow, so sleeping at 23h and still need to have dinner and stuff.

No se preocupe, todo a su debido tiempo. Si existe la posibilidad de que así sea, genial. Gracias de nuevo.

Don't worry, all in good time. If there is a chance that it is, great. Thanks again.

Here is a version which was NOT tested. I did everything I usually do, but I can't test it anymore. My monitor went to the car hours ago. The only thing I think that could happen is that it might take much time to some functions to be completed. Or not. Depends. I didn't test it. Maybe it went all well this time and all are still in the normal speed and don't take infinity.

I didn't touch on anything on the Advanced Tools part, only on what's on Offline Functions and in the main menu. Those were the only ones needing update. All on Advanced Tools needed no update at all.

I'll leave the untested version 0.11 PKGs attached to the message. If you or anyone tests them, please say here if the things are working or not and your firmware version!

EDIT: If you are on 4.86 or lower, you can use 0.10 without problems. I didn't add anything on this one, aside from possible breaking some functions by trying to update them to 4.87 without testing. On 4.86 or lower, stay on 0.10. On 4.87, try this one.

UPDATE: It seems the HAN Enabler is working, but the Debug PKGs/HAN Enabler is not (a loop). Use the Debug PKGs/HAN Enabler from HAN Functions --> HAN Functions (Offline). That one seems to work (can't explain that, as I thought I had just copy-pasted things xD).

EDIT 2: No idea why I didn't put the PKGs in the message itself. So I'm doing it now. From MediaFire's download counter, 206 downloads on the unsigned PKG and 352 on the signed PKG (plus any number that appears on the PKGs below).
