PS5 Hard Drive Blues

You remember that bug from launch where the PS5 just crashes in standby mode with the orange light when an external hard drive is connected and you have to unplug the power cord or toggle the surge protector?

It's still there.

Damn. it's crazy they are already up to FW 2.50. I'm not too bothered that I couldn't get a PS5 yet tbh. Gives Sony chance to fix these issues.

true, that's one reason I'm hesitant to buy one. I've heard of a lot of bugs, but my friend, KiiWii (defaultdnb), said that makes it more likely there are exploits as well. I've heard that some exploits for the ps4 (like save transfers from one profile to another) work on the ps5 as well. you just have to use account activator and export on the ps4, then import the saves on the ps5.

The rest mode bug went away on it's own. Weird.

Two other bugs I have noticed are:

• The UI will just freeze for several seconds at random, with not even the PlayStation button on the controller working.
• It is as slow downloading to extended storage as the PS4 is to its internal hard drive, and sometimes even slower.
  It will also often randomly stop midway through downloads to said extended storage for minutes at a time for no reason.

Turns out the rest mode bug is back. I blame a bad enclosure. Does anybody know of verified drive enclosures that work with the PS5?

Talking about enclosures, not "game drives."
