PS3 Help JAILBREAKING

Good day to all,

Im asking everyones help on how to jailbreak my PS3 and is it possible?

PS3 info: firmware version 4.81 model: CECH2100A ps3 slim

Ive done searching on youtube and do what i have been told but i always get errors when updating my ps3

so i hope in this forum i can jailbreak my ps3

That guide is good, but only for version 1.0 of ps3xploit.

This is the official guide for version 2.0, although it is not for dummies:

BTW The version 3.0 of ps3xploit (aka HAN) is for super slim and slim consoles that don't accept CFW (min fw 3.60 or higher).

Never used it on my SuperSlim CECH4003A and its still on 4.82 OFW. Just read about it as I got 2 Slims on CFW. Its still good for these non cfw ps3's. Am thinking about doing it to the SS PS3 just for the customisation of the xmb, waves and coldboot as it never gets connected to PSN anymore. I use the PSID and IDPS on the Slims lol.

Yeah its not for the noob to CFW to follow but still holds good info on the steps for the more advanced user who is used to doing things like this. I still prefer to use a Hardware flasher tbh lol. But this is an excellent alternative for people who don't want to keep ripping PS3's to bits as you don't just have to use the flasher, you have replace the thermal paste on as well. I have known a few people forget about this then wonder why their PS3 is fried....

I hated the hw flasher. having to keep buying electrical tape and trying to find the perfect resistance for that e3 clip was crazy...
Sure, I could get 30ish jailbreaks off one clip, but still. Then you get a wonky model in the 2000 series that you gotta shave plastic off the clip.... i'll take ps3xploit any day :D

i still have a problem i dont know where to download "NOR_NAND_writer_release_1.0_PS3Xploit.zip" this link i think its broken, can this be fixed?

Yep... I forgot that guide uses the v1.0 tools. Here is the link to the v2.0 tools. Make sure you install 4.82 OFW twice before using them. Once from the XMB, then again from the recovery menu, this helps to avoid ROS errors when dumping and patching the flash.

i want to do this safely step by step, so the progress i just made for now is that i updated my ps3 from OFW 4.81 to 4.82...

"The actual exploit that allows CFW installation is a webkit exploit (a bug was found in the Internet browser that is built into the PS3 that allows for CFW to be installed). This is accomplished by using a small web server program that will host the exploit files which you will access from your PS3. It is highly suggested not to use another person/organizations remote webpage to hack you PS3 with as it may contain harmful code or it may steal important files from your PS3 – play it safe and host it yourself.

You'll want to download and extract the "NOR_NAND_writer_release_1.0_PS3Xploit.zip" into a folder your desktop and then inside of that folder create another folder named "htdocs". Now select the files "nand-482.html", "nor-482.html" and "xp_rel_writer10.js" files and move them into the htdocs folder you just created. Next take the "flsh.hex" file contained in the "hex-482--COPY-TO-USB-ONLY-IF-482-FIRMWARE-OR-WILL-SOFTBRICK" folder and place it on the root of your FAT32 formatted USB drive."

oh ok :) so thats the better instruction manual but my nose is bleeding right now xD ok thanks for this ill look this up and ill try my best to understand :)
 
Use this video but use the V2.0 tools instead:
That's what I did and it worked perfect.
Easy to understand, so if you can't even follow that tutorial, I am deeply concerned if you should even attempt to get CFW.
 
does he mean i should use the ps3 browser? or pc browser? and how will i know what "exploit" i need? im sorry im a super noob at this, but if i learn i will also help others like me
  1. Open the browser & browse to the **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) website, go to the page ofthe exploit you need. Set the current page as browser homepage. Don't launch the exploit initialization. Close the browser.
  2. Open the browser. The exploit page will load automatically. Choose your dump path option.
  3. Press the exploit initialization button & wait until initialization succeeds. If it fails, follow the refresh/reload instructions on screen.
  4. Trigger the exploit by pressing the dump button.
  5. On success, validate your dump with the py checker tool.

Yes, but you can also host your own webserver if you don't wanna use **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new)
