Is there an another way to check syscon errors from the PS3 on OFW? My PS3 is acting stupidly weird and YLOD's at times and l want to see what the error codes are.
(I'm not soldering, l literally can't and plus l'm likely to send this console back to who l bought it from for a replacement)
Yes, there is a way to read out the Syscon without soldering. You could watch the video from RIP Felix here:
. It should work for all Phat and Slim models. But if it doesn't work for you, you could try something else. I think it's called Easy Clamp Fix or something similar (?). In any case, the point is that you can read out the Syscon in the same way as in the tutorials where you have to solder, except that instead of soldering you simply fix metal pins on the test points and these then make the connection. But I have hardly read anything about it so far and unfortunately I can't find a link that I could attach here.
I must briefly correct a mistake on my part, it is apparently only compatible with the Slim from version 21xx. And not with the Phat and Super Slim. If I understood correctly, you said that you only sometimes get a YLOD? In this case you could visit the website ps3toolset.com via the Ps3 browser as soon as it works again. But as I said, this is only possible when the site is up and running again.
