Hi, I'm new to custom firmware and need help.

I'd recommend uninstalling, and in the future if you need it just install the latest version. Evilnat's firmware and wMM already provide a lot of its features straight from XMB.
Thanks again. Out of curiosity, this evilnat that I'm about to download also contains the updated version of every thing such as updated version of multiman and webman? Or do I need to update both manually?

Bro, I did it! I'm on evilnat!!!! I'm so proud of myself hahahaha this is awesome! Thank you so muchhhhhhhh!!!!

Next thing I need to do now is to download and update multiman and webman, do you have a safe link for downloads of these particular files?

Oh sorry, you already included the link I was looking for.

What version of multiman and webman should I use for this evilnat cfw?

The latest ones. Just look for the latest date posted. It should be right in your face actually.

The link says:
multiMAN (BASE)v04.85.0110/10/19
I'm assuming this one?

Is there even a way to tell what version of multiman I'm using?

Edit: Ah, nevermind, I found my multiman version hehe thanks, I'll update this and webman and get back to you guys. Awesome!

About webMAN-MOD, when you install the package the plugin won't yet be fully installed in your console. You'll get an icon in your games tab that asks you either hold L1 to get the full version, hold x to get the light version, or hold nothing and get the Standard version. I recommend you hold L1 and click on the icon, wait for it to install, and the delete the icon (you won't need to run it again). After that, latest wMM should be installed.

Alternatively, if you have an internet connection, you should be able to update wMM straight from XMB (there should be an option in webMAN setting). This will by default download and install the Full version of the plugin.

Thanks man, I really appreciate this. I've done this just now and it went really smoothly. Next thing I need to do is backup the games from the external hard drive, format it to NTFS, download the ps3 iso tool, convert these jb files into iso, then put them inside the hdd0, particularly into the ps3 iso section then see if they are running?

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Once you begin building your ISOs, I would suggest setting you NTFS partition as the output folder so that you don't need to copy each iso over after creation (and to prevent not having enough space in your PC's hard drive). Also, choose to use makeps3iso as genps3iso has some bugs (I think the option is labelled as "PS3 System" in the GUI tool. Choose CFW).

Personally, I would use the command-line version of makeps3iso along with a script to automatically build all JB folders as ISOs automatically, but the script I have is meant for Linux system and would require you to use the command line. Since you don't have that many game backups, you can just use the GUI manually to build your ISOs.

Edit: You can run your games from internal or external; whichever is most convenient for you. So it is not strictly necessary to copy your games to hdd0. Also, if you have a large external hard drive you might need to choose a large cluster size for wMM to load your games correctly. I typically use 32kb as my cluster sizes.

I'm loving it, my man. So far, I have updated the cfw to Evilnat, updated webman, updated multiman and now I'm about to go Kratos on this NTFS. This went smoother than I expected. I'll let you know once I'm done converting the isos and see if they will work inside the ps3!

Really appreciate all your help. :)

Hi guys, I want to give you anupdate.

I have converted the JB files into iso and it's now stored on the external ntfs hard drive.

I want to store the said games into the actual ps3 internal hard drive itself but I don't see the actual external ntfs hard drive in multiman? This is weird since I can see the actual games on the game tab inside multiman but when I go to the desktop view and go to root, I can't see the NTFS drive.

Before i formatted the external into ntfs, I used to see usb0 or something when it was plugged into the ps3, now it's plugged in and I can't see it.

The reason why I want to store the isos into the internal HDD is because this external hdd is only limited to 160GB. That way I can sort all of the games into the internal drive.

You should just use Irisman to move your games, Multiman won't show ntfs drives in its file manager.

I personally use ManaGunZ's integrated file manager, as I find its UI very clean and simple and of course supports NTFS drives (or partitions, as is my case).
Oh? I always thought Irisman's was just as simple.
Never heard of ManaGunZ, sounds underrated. Everyone seems to talk about webman and multi-man mostly.

ManaGunZ is a great homebrew tool, and has an impressive amount of functionality including applying progressive scan, automatically applying PS2 CONFIG files as needed (wMM can now also do this, but ManaGunZ I believe had it first), as well as checking MD5s of ISO backups, and more. It's well worth a look; it's one of my favourite homebrew applications :)

OH MY GOD THE GAMES ARE WORKING NOW IM SO $#(%!@(#!)@#*@! HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shout outs to Coldheart, Atreyus, MrKnifeGod and AlexRhine.

You guys are awesome!

I'm now copying the games from the external to internal using irisman.

But before I started the copy process, I tested the now converted iso file of the last of us and it works!!!!!!!

I'm so happy thank you guys!!!!

Update:

I stumbled upon a problem when I tried to copy the iso of the last of us into the internal hdd.

it says:

Copy Error: 0xfffffff

Error Unknown

--------------------------------------

Is there any way around this?

I've had this error before, and I thought it was because it won't copy over large files, but I looked around and apparently it's due to having a long file name and file structure.

What does your current file structure look like for games? Example (G:/folder/folder files/ file.iso)
