How can i change default icon of HEN on my home screen?

That one down there. I want to make my own in PhotoShop and replace it with old one, the egg one.
Can it be done and how?

You can check in category_game.xml what is the path of the icon used by that option.

The icons normally are:
/dev_flash/vsh/resource/explore/icon/hen_enable.png
/dev_flash/vsh/resource/explore/icon/hen_disable.png

You can replace them with a new image, but first need to enable /dev_blind or /dev_rewrite.
Make sure that the dimensions of the new images are the same.

Thanks ill try and see how it works.
Didnt even saw someone replied here.
 
Actually i did it.... just small correction.

I couldn't copy them to /dev_flash/
instead, i copied them in /dev_rewrite/
same path as dev_flash (/dev_rewrite/vsh/resource/explore/icon/),
and didn't need to enable anything...and it worked.
Now i have a custom Hen icon. :)

FYI

There is only one partition.
/dev_blind or /dev_rewrite both point to the same partition as /dev_flash but the partition mounting was done with read/write options instead of read-only for /dev_flash.

Ftp server or some file manager may mount the partition with read/write perms automatically, other managers don't.

The various mount names dev_blind, dev_rebug, dev_rw, dev_rewrite were chosen randomly by devs.
It is actually a pain in the butt, every dev should have stuck to the same standard name to avoid user confusion & devs having to account constantly for what name others may have used in their code.

In your case, the dev who wrote the code you are using that mounted the flash partition automatically used dev_rewrite .

The image displayed when the system starts is coldboot.raf

It is found in /dev_rewrite/dev_rewrite/vsh/resource/coldboot.raf

You can replace it with a custom raf image of your preference.

This is a very simple tool that you can use to create one.

i already managed to do it, but thanks for replying to thread.

is this some diferent method?
 
Word of advice: think twice before installing random .pkg, .sprx, or any other files from unknown sources.

you might end up with a console brick, corrupt data, etc.

Your method requires file management such as multiman
But my method does not require any file manager
 
I used FTP (FileZilla) to transfer files, if thats what you mean, but yeah i have multiman.

So can you poset some video perhaps?

i have just replaced the hen style coldboot.raf with the original PS3 one. Now when booting there is the original PS3 animation but when enabling HEN the system freezes. tried 4 times but still freezes. unplugging from mains does not help. and now i cant replace back because i cant initialize HEN :D i might try to reinstall HEN or take out the HDD and do the coldboot.raf replacement throug PC..

think something else may be wrong on your end. the raf will not affect the system in any way, even if the raf was deleted from the flash or corrupted.
