PS3 how can i get my eid_root_key?

Or use any standalone ERK dumpers for specific firmware, or the hard way via Linux (by retrieving and decrypting metloader).

can anyone direct me how to get my eid_root_key to put in usb to remarry a bd drive? thank you all

Were you successful? I have been at this for a week on a CECHK01 with 4.87 and I'm going to throw it against the wall soon. :) IDPSet fails to dump the key to the thumb drive.

I keep getting error message that it is corrupt when I try and put rebug on it. I can only get CFW 4.87.2 Evilnat Cobra [CEX] [noBD] to work. Then not all rebug Toolbox functions work.

something may be wrong with your bd if that works but normal rebug doesn't. you can make a nobd of rebug with mfw. it's very easy to use, just use the rebug cfw as the base for your mfw, then inject that one patch. make sure you have the keys in the right place or else you'll get an error.

I had to buy a new BD and I'm trying to remarry it. The connector on the old daughterboard broke so I can't use it and install it on the new BD drive. OFW is 4.87 so The only CFW I can get on it is 4.87.2 Evilnat Cobra [CEX] for some reason. All the other say file corrupted when trying to install. I have a few toolboxes and somehow I found a place that has Custom Service Tools > Servicetools > Advanced Service that will allow me to remarry in FSM but I need to get EID on Flashdrive. Rebug toolbox only partially works and another toolbox has limited functionality too. I have Multiman on it but I see no place to do this. At this point I think I let it sit and collect dust. It's been a long 5 days of attempting to fix a $50.00 BD drive. I could have bought a used one for this much but this PS3 only has 50 hours on it.

you may try idpset, but I don't know if it's firmware independent. I haven't seen a new version of it. rebug toolbox won't dump the erk on any other firmware but rex, since it's a part of the cex to dex conversion. not sure why it doesn't work just in general, but that's something you have to live with. I tried dumping the erk on ferrox, and that option wasn't available.

you can make a standalone pkg from rebug erk dumper, if you resign it to npdrm. it isn't fw independent regardless of cfw, cause it uses specific kernel functions, which differ on different fws

I have tried to make it unique, but it can only handle upto 3 or 4 different payloads (=different fw versions) at once

no, you don't have to be on a rex/drex fw and it also should work fine for 4.87, since @Joonie has added 4.87

actually, it doesn't work. I've been on ferrox before, and I distinctly remember the erk dumping option not being present in rebug toolbox. plus, this member wouldn't have asked this question if the option were present on evilnat. it's part of converting to dex, which I think is the reason it doesn't exist on non rex firmware.

I see, so erk dumper wasn't updated itself and does not recognize firmware?

edit
looking at his source, there is no rebug specific method to dump rootkey and it should work fine latest fw, unless you are using an older toolbox. it is updated on his git
