PS3 How can update my CFW 3.55 version to CFW 4.xx

Hello to every one,
I have been using PS3 3.55 CFW for about 4 years with the same fw installed. I don't know which cfw version it is because I couldn't install it myself.
I reviewed the current cfw on the site. Can I upgrade my version by installing these versions on my ps3?
Which of the dex or cex versions should I install?
and which version should I use?

You can simply install a newer firmware and update it to a much more recent firmware. I would suggest either Ferrox Cobra 4.85 or Rebug Lite 4.85 - you could also go for Rebug REX (for CEX systems). DEX is only to be used if you have a specific need for it, e.g. game modding or something which you can't do in CEX. For the majority of people, CEX CFW is all that's required as it's consumer firmware with the relevant patches to give it way more features than OFW.

Thanks for the advice.
Is there a problem with ps3 being online and entering psn in these versions?

There's always a risk of a ban when signed into PSN on CFW, or any other exploit for that matter. At least with 4.85 CFW you do not have to spoof to get online as you would have to with 4.84 CFW. Not having to spoof may reduce the chances of a ban. At the very least, use PSNpatch or or the webMAN MOD :but r2:+:but tri: button combo to delete CFW history and disable CFW syscalls.

Doing this will prevent homebrew and other CFW features from being used until the console is next rebooted. Again, there's always a risk (all the precautions in the world cannot guarantee your account and/or console will be safe from a ban) but by taking such precautions you mitigate the risk.

Of course, using mods in online matches and the like is almost guaranteed to get you banned quickly, as other users are likely to report you which will in turn get your account and/or console banned.

Would it be a problem for me to update the games I downloaded last?
