PS3 How dangerous it is to play a game with modified files (like EBOOT) online?

I know pretty well how to protect my PS3 from bans, or at least be a little bit on the safe side. I use PSNPatch with PSNPatch plugin, disable syscalls and delete history files, all the stuff we all know. But right now I was wondering:

I like some Japanese games that got patched to English. Games like Tales of Vesperia and Dragon Quest Builders, they both are Japan Only games with an English patch for CFW.

In Vesperia, this English patch consists of modified EBOOT and pretty much a lot of modified .svo and other extension files.
In Dragon Quest, EBOOT and PARAM.SFO are modded.

Am I in additional risk of getting banned because I'm playing "modded" games on my account? I know this is a pretty relative and hard to answer question, I just like to know if there's official word or facts about that. Even though both mods are pretty much only text mods (it's just a translation!), still, they're MODS. Should I stop playing these games in my main account?

If your playing them online then you are risking it if the game is not the way it would be from a retail disc, even just a lingo patch. The best thing is to setup a new account that you don't give a crap about and use that, not your main account, especially if you have paid content on it as if you get banned you will lose the ability the ever download it again, therefore having to pay for it again.

If your just playing offline with that game then mod away, just be sure not to be signed into PSN, or even better, disable the PS3's internet connection when not playing online.

EDIT: also if you get the account banned and you have PS Plus free game on the console then you will most likely not be able to play them again as these require an active PS plus account to play.
