PS2 How slow can Fortuna be when using it to access a network?

I am planning to do the following:

1. Use the Fortuna hack to launch OPL and putting OPL in a USB key.
2. While using OPL through a USB key, launch games by accessing a network, not the USB key.

I got the tutorial here:

I plan to use what was explained in that tutorial, but instead of putting the games on a USB key that is run by OPL in that USB key, I am putting the game images through a shared space on a computer.

Is that possible and, if so, how slow can it be?

Yes, it is possible.
Read speeds are much faster using ETH over USB.

Check my signature for an AIO Ps2 Guide. I cover this method and more.

Just one yes or no question: either answer will suffice.

I said that I will leave OPL on the USB. Even if OPL is on the USB (but the games-loading will be over the Ethernet cable), the operation will be optimum, right?

FYI: I am using the Fortuna scenario because the next PS2 available might just be the SCH-9 serious. Now, it may not so, but I need to be prepared for anything, like only being able to get a SCH-9 series PS2.

Thank you for your patience.

The only difference with a 9k series ps2 is its updated boot rom. Which prevents the FMCB exploit.
Fortuna is just an exploit. All homebrew should behave the same way across all ps2 models.

So yes, your desired configuration (OPL on USB, games across a network) will work
