PS3 How To Install .pkg Games on 4.90 EVILNAT?

I wanted to reminisce with some old-school Counter Strike: Global Offensive, and came across this very early patch PS3 version:

It's a .pkg, not an .iso. How do I go about installing this, is it the same process as a typical.pkg where you copy the .pkg into an external and plug it into the PS3 then open the Standard package installer?

All package files .PKG are installed in the same way:
- Put the PKG in the root directory of an USB device or in the packages folder, then use package manager on XMB to select the file to install.

Alternatively use multiMAN or IRISMAN to create bubble install items on XMB. This is an old method not very popular.

My apologies.

I followed these steps but I continue to get errors when trying to launch the game:

  • Copied the .pkg files to my /dev_hdd0/ external hard drive.
  • On the PS3 XMB, navigated to Game -> Package Manager - Install Package Files -> PS3 System Storage.
  • Copied the .rap files associated with the .pkg files to a /dev_usb000/exdata directory on my FAT32 external hard drive, plugged it into the rightmost USB slot on the ps3.
  • From the XMB, selected Network -> Custom Firmware Tools -> PSN Tools -> Create Account ID to create a fake activation.
  • Here is where I get stuck: From the XMB, selected Network -> Custom Firmware Tools -> Cobra Tools -> Create License. I am met with the following error: "There is no activation file in this account."

Why not simply disable the CFW Syscalls, login to PSN, download your games directly from PSN Store?
They will be activated automatically before start downloading. It is much more easier than using the offline activation.
