Unless your TV is fixing the size for you, you should have blackborder on the side. All my games are widescreen patched. And I tested both systems with the same games

Must be my TV auto correcting them then as I don't have any borders but I do admit the PS1 images do seem "squashed" at times but nothing I can't live with. I do have a xRGB Mini I plug into when playing older games and that may have a lot to do with it as well.
 
I wasn't meaning to diss the ps3. it's just that sony says the darndest things sometimes. :-P as many of u know, I'm a Nintendo fanboy, so my ps2/ps3/ps4 remain unplayed for probably over a year. the only thing I use my ps3 for is dumping klicenses which does involve playing a game for about 10 minutes to make sure they dump correctly, so that's about the only play the systems get. well, I did play star ocean 5 a bit on the ps4 since I bought the game and being a huge fan of the series. I still think star ocean 2 is the best in the series though. most of my gaming is on the wii u especially with a hacked virtual console. ;)

Well that's good for you, in my case I bought A01 then it turned out to be E01 inside, I didn't even realize until I disassembled to take a look the mobo, then found out the EE chip was missing. Probably it was refurbished due to YLOD or something. Later on I picked up another A01 because I didn't have to buy E01 since I already got one unintentionally. Hopefully your B01 isn't E01 like mine before

No luckily mine was purchased from someone I knew. Was still on 2.00 and unopened when I got it. Had two A-01 models die on me so have been iffy about buying one again but I knew this had no to NO USE on it so swapped PSU with a 40gb model, added 19 blade fan and keep fan speeds at 30%. Just checked four hours running and it's temps are 48/45 Celsius
 
that's way cool. I keep my temp thresholds on both my 360 and ps3 at 60 degrees celsius or 140 degrees fahrenheit. I've not modified my ps3, but I had installed whisper fans on my "original" 360. they come with led lights that u can place on either side of the system as well. unfortunately, my 360 was a xenon, so it failed anyway. what I'm using now is a falcon. the xenon - I had no control over the fan speeds since it wasn't a jtag. both falcons I own r jtags. I also own a jasper with cfw for the optical drive.

Hi Bobby I Want To Learn How To Make A Minverchk so it tells us what we need for our ps3 I want it like this so it shows the lowest possible version and it says Please Install CFW or HAN

To be honest I am not sure how you will do that, it is not something I have done before.

What error are you getting on scetool..? Keys not found? curves not found?

I have used both scetool and the other files , unself.exe etc, that go into system32 in both windows and system32 folders on windows 10, so everytool is globally installed and can be accessed and used from any folder through either powershell or cmd prompt (saves having to copy files from one folder to the other all the time).

Atm the files that go in system32 are in system32 folder and work on win10 and I have scetool in windows folder and works fine.

They can also be used and accessed this way if using CYGWIN or MSYS terminals.
