How to properly spoof console ID?

Was about to buy a CID and wanted to know the best way to protect my investment. Never going to be gaming online though, just for Netflix really.

Whether you play online or not, using only Netflix, the risks are the same... Except for very few known games which can be risky.

What console model do you use?

1. You can use idpset 0.87. (store.brewology.com) to spoof your cid on a "permanent" basis.
2. You can use webMAN-MOD to spoof cid at boot time. Use the setup page for that.
3. You can use psnpatch (app and/or plugin) to spoof manually or at PSN connection time. You need to edit the psnpatch.cfg file found in the installation directory. Put your cid in the right section, make sure the line is not commented out with a '#' as 1st character. Keep the cfg file where you found it or copy it to a usb key. When there are 2 cfg files found, the usb one takes priority....
....
There are other ways but those 3 are the easiest & most practical.

Btw we don't recommend to buy cid online. Not only because there are possible legal issues but also because it's impossible to guarantee that the id is genuinely yours & yours only. It can be sold over & over. It could also be stolen from someone still using it....
Imo the best is to look for an unbanned dead console of the same model as yours. Get a pro to extract the ids for you if you don't have anything to dump the nor. Overall it will probably cost you the same amount of money, you will have a legit set of ids & spare parts...

You don't really need to AFAIK but you could... I don't bother, never have & never experienced any problems...
However it's easy enough to do if you have one handy...

I used SEN Enabler to change my MAC. Will I have to run SEN Enabler and patch my mac every time or will once suffice?

On another note: Used webMAN to change my IDPS and PSID and clicked the check marks beside them. Also checked Disable CFW Syscals. Anything else to be done?

What do you use to connect to PSN?
PSNPatch or SEN Enabler?
In either case, do you use the app or the plugin?

About webMAN-MOD you can use it to spoof ids on boot but it's not recommended to use anything other than a dedicated tool to prepare CFW for PSN.
Some rely on wMM alone but like most users I prefer to use psnpatch.

Okay I logged on and I'm in. Hopefully I did everything right.

I changed IDPS and PSID in webMAN, checked both of them and also checked disable cfw syscals and delete history.

Didn't do anything else. MAC address didn't hold after restart so I didn't bother to change it.

How do I set up PSNPatch properly?

That is why I was asking what tool you are using... But you are not using any.. [emoji3]

Btw to apply Mac spoofing automatically you can use SEN Enabler plugin.

plugins r the one thing I'm not too familiar with on the ps3. I stopped researching the ps3 a long time ago, so anything that came out afterwards, I know very little about. I do know plugins on the 360 though. ;) now, back on topic!

All I did was change IDPS and PSID on webMAN. No dedicated tool used.
Well I told you what the recommended way was, after that you are free to experiment away... [emoji6]
Be cautious though.. Unless you have spare ids... [emoji5]️
Don't forget to use a 2nd PSN account without money spent for anything you do that's risky. Some multilayer games for instance. Unless I need my main account, I don't use it!

If just using your ps3 for Netflix and you are not real time modding multiplayer matches, you should look into the Nopsn apps. It is a set of apps for the ps3 that have been set up so that signing into pan is not required. I haven't heard of an update from the dev for awhile but perhaps maybe they were made firmware independant.

The nopsn patch doesn't work anymore for most users out there unfortunately.
Basically the patched app experiences Netflix server connection errors on startup.
The only nopsn release out there that works for everyone freezes too often. It's Netflix EU 1.04, I tried patching most US & EU Netflix versions & only Netflix EU up to 1.04 will still work. I could not get hold of a EU version previous to 1.04 to test if it also freezes regularly like 1.04 though..
All the details about the problem are in the nopsn brew thread. [emoji6]

Started to use PSNPatch now. Think I'm set. psnpatch.cfg file is in dev_hdd0/game/BLJS10018/USRDIR.
Have you installed the plugin?
If not, launch the app, press select to enter the Cobra Toolbox, choose psnpatch plugin only (not webman). Press start to apply the changes
On reboot you should have a pop up message telling you PSN is locked.
Use the combo to trigger psnpatch when you're ready to (same combo as unload webMAN-MOD, look at the bottom of wMM setup page for the combo list when you cannot remember a combo).
On triggering the plugin, a pop up message will be displayed with PSN unlocked & the spoofed ids. [emoji5]️

Check the psnpatch release notes on brewology store & psnpatch general thread for more information.

FYI if you use Rebug, you need to have Rebug Mode enabled in the Rebug Toolbox beforehand.
