PS3 How to recover a Modded CECH-20XXX with dead HDD?

Hi, I had acquired a couple years ago a modded ps3 cech-20xxx with rebug dex cfw, which I cannot precise what version it was, and recently the HDD died and now I am unable to fix it :(

I purchase a new HDD 2,5 (500gb) which I had formatted to fat32 before install into the ps3, also got an usb stick also formatted in fat32 with the latest OFW 4.84 with proper folder structure (\PS3\UPDATE\PS3UPDAT.PUP) in the far right usb port.

The problem it's that the system does not allow me to install it, it says something like "no applicable data found"...

Also, I tried different usb sticks and trying install the firmware through safe mode with no success...

Is it beyond repair? or there is anything I can do to fix it?

The system does allow you to install cause you have a dex kernel and you can't install CEX PUP from DEX Converted Machine you and whyy installing OFW just put your HDD in ps3 and download REBUG 4.84 D-REX and done after that install any homebrew you want and launch your game ....etc

I've tried to do update through Rebug 4.84 D-REX but I'm getting the errors 8002F2B5 or 8002F285 which a message telling the data it's corrupted, but I had check the hash's and it was verified. Did i brick it?

Update error0x8002F285Issue with System Restore or installing Firmware update in Recovery Mode. Reboot system and reinstall firmware.
Update error0x8002F2B5Error with installing Firmware update. The PUP is not recognized as valid update.

I've tried the D-Rex 4.84.2 (MD5 9211252d41841461c6299bfad48fa7f1) and Rex 4.84.2 (MD5 0835d81e3c581f3bdfdfbe86fca5e192) just in case it would be CEX, and I had no success... I'm start to think probably my ps3 has a kernel from others CFW, I wished I would know which before the HDD died...

It's there any way to identify the kernel? Or there is a other way to revert it to the original kernel or even install a HFW?

There is no DEX Kernel for other CFW Only Rebug and Pasta and both are made by @Joonie

The firmware's I've tried to install so far:
OFW 4.84
HFW 4.84.2
REBUG_4.84.2_D-REX
REBUG_4.84.2_REX
Overflow_4.84_v1_standardCEX
Ferrox_4.84_Cobra

Non of them worked, not even through safe mode...
The hdd it's new with all partitions removed and the pen drive was already used to update a phat ps3 firmware, so I assume shouldn't be a trouble to work with a ps3 slim.
I don't know what else I can do

try another usb , prefetrably smaller size. i have 16gb thats work for now. But i had one 8gb that would work but now is not working.
i mean that it is not working to install ps3 firmware. and i have tried formating on mbr too.
