Forget to tell about that as many people don't know about remarry till they search error 8002F14E on internet
 
Good morning I bought another bluray drive and I still have the error sys_storage_open err: 8001006 I have also verified that I can neither insert nor take out discs, when the bluray is not married can you insert extracting CDs? I begin to think that it is a problem of the ps3 that does not feed the blu ray thanks

Hello, I had the same issue and what I did to resolve it was replace the logic board. I had to buy another drive in order to replace it, but I did buy a "for parts or not working" drive but asked the seller beforehand if it came with a logic-board or not, and afterwards I just remarried it like usual and worked just fine. To answer your question about inserting CD's, for me when I had that error on my previous logic-board, it did used to take CD's and everything just fine. I could even hear it spin up too. But ultimately I bought another logic-board, which was my easy way out.

  • 4-Navigate to Utilities (4th Column),scroll down until you see Dump eid root key it will be in :
    • /dev_hdd0/game/RBGTLBOX2/USRDIR/eid_root_key
  • 5-Install multiman if you don't have it then do Select+Start combo to enter explorer mode then click on Root
  • 7-Click on "/dev_hdd0/game/RBGTLBOX2/USRDIR" if you find "eid_root_key" copy to /dev_usb000/ (most right USB Port) if you don't find "eid_root_key" redo Step 4
  • 8-Have any BlueRay Drive attatched to motherboard
  • 9-Navigate to Network Category (the one Next to Game Category)
  • 10-There will be folder named ★ Custom Firmware Tools
  • 11-Toggle Factory Service Mode
    • ★ Custom Firmware Tools->Service Tools->Advanced Service Tools->Toggle Factory Service Mode
  • 12-PS3 will reboot with red square in bottom right saying Playstation3 Factory/Service Mode and background will be gray
Warrning : Don't Install/Update a firmware while your in Factory Service Mode !!!!!!!!!!!!​
  • 13-Navigate to network category then
    • ★ Custom Firmware Tools->Service Tools->Advanced Service Tools->Remarry Blueray Drive
    click on that blue icon the procedure will be in background but you get notification in top right saying :
    • CEX_drive_init() succeeded if blueray is remarried
    • CEX_drive_init() failed if blueray failed to remarry/sometime it show failed but remarry done properly
  • 14-Insert BD Movie and play it to restore DRL/CRL files or you can use multiMan later "Repair Blueray Movies "Fix DRL/CRL hashes" function
  • 15-After it remarry succeeded click on the red icon Toggle Factory Service Mode to Exit FSM this time
  • 16-PS3 will reboot to normal no red box,colored background again
  • 17-You can now install any cfw ,as noBD patches revokes some of cobra features like PS2/PSP...etc
  • 18-After you install Rebug 4.85 Lite,Ferrox 4.85 or Spy 4.85 (those are the latest one availble for public)
  • 19-Test any ps3 game disc you have
  • 20-Install your homebrews and have fan your PS3 will launch any homebrew no blackscreen the new remarried BlueRay will be like your original blueray

(Thanks to @Louis Garry for remembering me the Standalone EID Key Dumper)​
  • 1-Install any noBD CFW that have CFW Settings integrated (i am using my CFW in this situation)
    • MD5 : C674C9514C64A138EE640710E9005072
  • 2-After CFW boots install EID Root Key Dumper by clicking on it from :
    • Package Manager->Install Packages Files ->PS3 System Storage->eid_root_key_dumper.pkg
  • 3-Plug USB in most right usb port then open EID Root Key Dumper, console will stay blackscreen few seconds and than reboot
  • 4-Have any BlueRay Drive attatched to motherboard
  • 5-Navigate to Network Category (the one Next to Game Category)
  • 6-There will be folder named ★ Custom Firmware Tools
  • 7-Toggle Factory Service Mode :
    • ★ Custom Firmware Tools->Service Tools->Advanced Service Tools->Toggle Factory Service Mode
  • 8-PS3 will reboot with red square in bottom right saying Playstation3 Factory/Service Mode and background will be gray

Hi, If I install your noBD/noBT CFW then possible to activate the bluetooth somehow?
 
Awesome tutorial. Thank you so much for it. However, I'm having an issue with mine. I did this, and while everything works in COBRA mode in rebug, I can only get blu ray movie playback in other cfw's and/or without cobra mode. When I attempt to play a game without COBRA enabled or or OFW I will get error code 80010017. Anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong? Its a CECHE01. Thanks in advance.
 
Can't remarry the blu-ray drive ... Tryed with 3 different bd-roms ... always 2 errors in FSM ...
Tryed on 4.85 and 4.86 REBUG noBD ... eid keys on USB in right slot ...
 
Hi guys I have a question, my ps3 has 4.75 ps3 ita dex that have patch noBD, I don't find any DEX noBD version of rebug, how to install rebug to switch to cex AND install rebug 4.86 noBD or perform a remarry without risking that the installation of the FW goes into block?

worked.But I have the 80010017 error code any game I tried it tries to boot but get back to xmb with this error code I tried to rebuild data base re-installing hfw 4.86 and my discs are so clean but nothing worked :'(
 
Hi guys. I have a CECHK08 ps3 with faulty logic board it seems. But when tried to remarry a 2nd logic board. It shows the error "CEX_drive_init_sblock() failed" and just after that popup is another popup "CEX_drive_init() failed".

Can any1 help me what can be the problem

i need to install another cfw after remarrying the bd drive? I tried to remarry a known working drive and it failed and wont read discs
 
Hello, first and foremost, great tutorial. Easy to follow, and detailed.

Now unfortunately, I was unable to get my BD to play any sort of disc whatsoever. I have verified that the laser is working fine. I successfully remarried the BD to the motherboard. I was unable to follow both methods despite not being QA flagged. I used PS3Xploit method instead. Both CFW linked in the initial post lead to something along the lines of "Data is corrupted" or "Firmware is already updated".

My question is, where should I go from here? The drive is remarried to the board, and the laser is functioning.
The unit is a CECHE MG with a BD-410 just for reference. The laser replaced in it was a KES-410A. Everything should check out.
 
Unfortunately neither method worked for me and I tried it more then once. Blu-ray movies plays with stuttering and still error 80010017 when trying to play disc based games. Guess I will just have to sell it for scrap as I have tried everything and this was my last hope.

put any working disc drive (meaning from another ps3 and same model) to pass the update error ,convert to cex then install rebug noBD

check ribbon cable if its already plugged in change your drive

try to fix DRL/CRL hash using multiman after doing remarry operation
