I installed FMCB for mod chipped on a non-mod chipped console, now I won't load anything

It's sounding more and more like you will have to start from fresh.
Do you have access to another exploited system? Or another FMCB memory card?

You say the disk drive is not working... Is it working enough to do a swap disk exploit?

If the original card doesn't boot FMCB. Then it looks like you won't be able to rely on the memory card alone to re-install

I would bet on bad blocks on memory card.

Let's pretend this is the problem. Maybe FMCB it's been installed but OSDSYS (and also ULE) cannot boot due to them being on bad blocks. It could be the reason the hotkey didn't worked.

He could try putting ULE and FMCB_Configurator (or also FMCB_Installer, renamed to BOOT.ELF) on a pendrive root (or wherever the prefix paths point). It costs nothing to try.

I can't, the disk drive already broken years ago, the disk tray won't come out.
Is there any way to get the exploit without HDD or CD/DVD?

What FMCB version have You used back in days (or other exploit) for launch OPL?
Am asking because OPL alone cannot be launched. ;]

I'm not sure, I bought it years ago and the OPL is already installed (it's auto boot up to OPL 0.7 so the FMCB menu not showing)

How to do this? My PS2 can't even launch the uLauncher to copy the data from the flashdisk. I can't buy a PS3 Memory Card adapter since it isn't available in Indonesia and I can't buy it from Amazon/eBay since I live in a small city (almost like a village) so it is impossible to buy it from overseas.

I guess that's it guys, I gave up already.

If its just the disk tray not moving. Then there is a slim chance of getting a swap disk exploit working... But I'm not sure.
The way the swap disk trick works involves using a jig to unlatch the drive tray mechanism to pull out the tray while the ps2 is still running, swap disks from official game disk to modified game disk that's burned and boot into uLaunchELF, from there launching FMCB installer. So really, the tray mechanism shouldn't be a problem as long as the ps2 knows there is a disk inside.

I gave up already, I guess I need to wait until this virus over and go to Jakarta to fix this. Thanks for the response by the way!

One last thing that comes to my mind is to install FMCB 1.8b on memory card:
https://web.archive.org/web/2012010...ms/f153/official-free-mc-boot-releases-58292/.

While your console will boot, press and hold :but start: button.
Maybe it will be at least possible to enter FMCB configurator, which can mean that E1 launch keys should work.
If these keys will work, you can make shortcut to OPL from the configurator.

It's in case FMCB it's been partially installed and just Ulaunchelf and some other files are in bad blocks.

FMCB has the ability to launch programs via hotkeys from a USB device too (no need to copy files, you can boot them directly from the USB, if FMCB is at least partially working on your MC).

However I don't remember precisely where the default hotkeys point. I'll check it.

If it's just the tray it'd be very simple with a card, but only if he has a swap magic disc. Otherwise for doing the swap trick with any other game/demo disc he'd need to disassemble the Ps2 (for avoiding damaging his og disc). Pretty easy to do following a YT video tutorial.

No, I'm talking about the uLaunchELF modified game disk.
There are many games compatible. But I use 007: Agent Under Fire. You dump the game disk, modify it to include uLaunch, and burn to blank dvd. Then, on the ps2, you play the original disk up to a certain point (in 007s case, up to the second levels launch screen) and while the ps2 is still running, swap the disk for your modified version, then initiate the second level, which then boots uLaunch.
From there, it's business as usual to install FMCB

EDIT - I turbo charged into this response without reading your full reply... Didn't know that damage could be caused, although I've only ever this method on slims, which is much easier to swap disks on. I guess once it's done, it's done though. As long as you have a backup FMCB card for these kinds of situations.

You can do it with any game (however you need 2 CDs/DVDs for replacing the ID with either cogswap and Ule if the game haven't other ELFs).

Exactly, you need the FAT Ps2 as the slim one (so the fat must be opened) for hot-swapping. Otherwise you won't be able to correctly swap (above all when inserting the original disc, the spinning rotary will damage it).
