ok. i apparently have no idea what i am doing. i've done softmods with ogxbox, wiiu, and pstv, and basically once i'm on cfw, i just install games. done and done.
so basically all i want to do is run delisted games that i never got an opportunity to purchase or install. i have a couple.
i did this a few years ago with HFW using HAN. but i read that han is basically archaic and that i should be on CFW anyway. so i updated my OS to 4.87 and went through the process of jailbraking to 4.87 FERROX COBRA 8.20.
so here on out is alot of assumptions based on how wiiu and xbox work, so please correct my inaccuracies and link to proper tools would be great so i can be up and running. i've watched and read way too many things, can someone just hold my hand and tell me what to do?
so.. on cfw i *assume* i don't need han/hen/ or any of that other nonsense anymore (assuming its much like haxchi on wiiu replaced the need for loadiine). i'm on CFW so now everything *should* be enabled to begin with?? so i downloaded a test pkg/rap, used psxresigner to resign the keys on pkg/rap to match my store ID, and then i did a cold boot on ps3, insert usb flash stick, navigate to games>package manager>install package files>package directory>####.pkg, and i get an error message (80029564) that the file failed. if i install the vanilla pkg unsigned, it works. but the psxresigned version errors out.
so... is resigner JUST for han/hen? can i use resigned pkges without han?
if not, how do i install han to cfw 4.87?
if i can't, how do i resign pkg's to run on CFW?
does cfw already have all the capability built in? or is that my problem? is cfw just a portal and i still have to install HFW ontop of CFW?
i saw a video that mentioned using psnreactivat, but on the video it looked liek he had to sign into a seperate profile in order to do that, and i would rather not have to do that.
but is that the only option?
how do i just cold boot into my primary account and play? i've watched about 1000 videos and read many forum entries and i just have conflicting info.
