i tried to install CFW on PS3 Super Slim

Also the model mentioned in this post is an A model variant so most defo an eMMC 12GB SS PS3.

As I got the super slim cech4203c it appears to be nor as it have the 500gb hard with it. And I have used the hfw 4.85 with hen enabler it working as intended. The thing about cfw I dont think it going to happen for a long time since the special key that was leaked for 3.55 but I don't think it possible since the new security method locked out the chance of cfw been installed on super slim

Yeah yours will be a NOR. The C at the end of the model number is the variant of that model. CECH4****C's came with the 500GB HDD out of the box. NOR's have parial FW (CoreOS) on the NOR chip and the rest is on a VFLASH partition of the HDD.

B's came with a 250GB HDD, I think but not 100% sure, out of the box and are also NOR.

A's come with no HDD from the factory and have a 12GB OB eMMC flash so they basically are like the OG NAND Phat models in ways as all the FW is on the eMMC flash chip and This was done to lower the cost of them so you could buy a basic model then add your own HDD later.

The thing with CFW and the Metldrs is that if S@ny did what they did on the later model PS3's on the first PS3's, eg do it right. There most likely would be no CFW at all, just HEN like with the PS4. It was down to S@nys own stupid mistakes the first PS3's got hacked basically and now have CFW. I cannot remember of the top of my head exaclty what happen and when but there is plenty of info out there if you look about the path taken to crack wide open the first PS3's.
 
Research this stuff before u do it.. The reason why installing a cfw on a non cfw ps3 bricks because there's a thing called a loader 1 and loader 2.. Loader 1 is for the original ps3 and ealry slims.. Basically what Sony did when they updated to 3.55. The keys for the firmware was the same soo that allowed cfw to be installed.

Loader 2 is for the late slims and superslims.. Sony made them 3.56 or high so u can't install cfw because they patch the key so it changes when u restart or turn off the ps3.. That's why u can't install a cfw cuz the superslims and late slim will get a different code each to u restart it.. Soo hope u leaned something new.

mtldr.... late slims and SS have mtldr2.

There are several "loaders" in the PS3, but the one I mention above is the culprit. Basically becasue of it we have no access to lv1 and Lv0.

HEN is usrland and lv2 access.
