You might need DL layer DVDs for some ps2 games iirc. Most will be fine. Anyway the 4GB barrier wont be an issue on disk media as the filesystem is not fat32.

Exactly.unless in the next update we will be able to install pkg in external hdd then screw the dvds lol.

I have ultra slim ps3, I used to hot swap ps1 games in it, but it wont play ps2 dvd even the legit ones.
I have 1tb internal with about 20gb free with ~50 empty dvd that I bought dirt cheap.

Well, you can INSTALL pkgs from DVD, but you can not run games from DVD. So I don't think this will help you. All you could do is backup pkgs on DVDs for future use.

Super (ultra?) slim models can't play PS2 games unless they're downloaded or converted to PSN PKG type using HAN but no PS2 ISO/Disc support afaik

Yeah he suggested to use swap magic which is basically a ps2 dvd that wont work on *ultra slims.

Well, you can INSTALL pkgs from DVD, but you can not run games from DVD. So I don't think this will help you. All you could do is backup pkgs on DVDs for future use.

It will save space both in my pc and ps3, just throw the dvd, install, after playing for 2-3 days just remove and install another, while I still cam install whenever I want.

BC is the original Backwards Compatible model of PS3, also known as "NAND PS3", "Launch model", "PS2 Compatible" etc.
