I've got the same issue. Tried to access bgtoolset from 3 different PS3 models with no luck and the same error code.
Because the problem is not in client side (ps3) but in server side (ps3toolset server)I've got the same issue. Tried to access bgtoolset from 3 different PS3 models with no luck and the same error code.
Is there any alternative way to install cfw from ofw 4.91?
It's really disappointing that you can't mount ps2 isos using hen. I have a hardware backwards compatible ps3 too.Just use HEN for the time being, there is a hardware alternative but I think you need to solder and flash the NAND/NOR chip.
HEN will do for the time being.

Dropping the SSL would solve this problem instantly. If the developer chooses to do so, its a 18 year console with most game servers being offline and not even the PS3 official site loads anymore.
So there's still no fix to this issue yet? Correct me if I'm wrong, please
I want some advice on a problem I have. I updated my ps3 to 4.91 and I can't get the cfw 4.91 on my ps3 I get error code 8002f957 when I try to update and I looked around and one of the causes is not having flash writer or an up to date version
of fw on your ps3. (like I think I have 4.40 of fw idk)
should I do the flash writer with my own website or should I wait for ps3toolset to be back online?
The reason I'm asking this is because I hear that putting flash writer own website can brick your ps3
Using your own website like hosting a proxy through your PC with the files also doesn't seem to work, I've tried that. Unfortunately it just gives of the same error and I'm still waiting for the BG tools website to get fixed.
Or u could use hen if you want I guess
YeOkay, so is ether hen or wait![]()
You activate the exploit in toolset once, it stays activated permanently. This activated exploit then allows you to install any custom firmware you want to install. You can also go back to official firmware again, if you want to (for example if there is any problem with the firmware), and then install another custom firmware.Just wondering after the toolset is working again do you only need it for install? Or does it need to be used all the time after the install? Stoked on doing the cfw on my PS3
