You activate the exploit in toolset once, it stays activated permanently. This activated exploit then allows you to install any custom firmware you want to install. You can also go back to official firmware again, if you want to (for example if there is any problem with the firmware), and then install another custom firmware.
That's not how it works. If you ever install OFW over any CFW, for whatever reason, you must run the exploit again in order to be able to reinstall CFW. And you can only install a CFW of the same version or above than the current OFW version installed.
The only way to install any CFW version is by having enabled the QA flags, and checking that you don't install a version that's less than min. factory FW.
