Developer Estwald is back again with another official update to Iris Manager, with v2.97 being released earlier today The update comes with a new plugin that shows temperature of the PS3. However its seems the developer created this plugin, while perhaps not fully understanding the functions of webMAN (& webMAN MOD) as the developer wrongly states in his release quote "Webman only shows the temperature if you are physically in the XMB, through its graphical interface". As fellow developer aldostools points out, and as most webMAN (& webMAN MOD) users know, you can view the temperature in a number of ways with the plugin. [break]ss[/break] View from your phone, tablet, & any devices connected to your home network that can run an Internet Browser/. Options are great but i think Estwald created the plugin while not being fully aware of the functionality of webMAN. Nonetheless options are great and we do appreciate the work Estwald (aka Hermes) has put in the past and since his return to the scene this past week
If your a webMAN user, personally i see little point to using this, but if you are not a webMAN users then here is a light plugin (monitor.sprx) that would allow you to display the temperature with a simple button combo.

The idea to show the temperature is simple: as far as I've seen, Webman only shows the temperature if you are physically in the XMB, through its graphical interface.
What I've done is create a fairly light module, called monitor.sprx that through a combination of buttons, triggers or a series of notifications (one every 10 seconds or less) showing the temperature.
Use: In the XMB (press the PS button during gameplay):
SELECT + L2: On / Off display temperatures
SELECT + TRIANGLE: download monitor.sprx system module
As you can enable, disable and even download the module system simply I simply load it into the slot 5 with no problems. The frequency of 10 seconds've considered adequate to prevent excessive saturation of notifications and secondly, it was not long desmasiado to track.
