Irisman, and the ability to Exchange PSX Discs

I been doing a little research, because I am looking for a means of playing PSX ISOs on a PS3. Now I've already modded the Super Slim with HEN, and used Multiman and Irisman. I learned that Irisman can possibly exchange discs with a button code pressing. Yet I have looked around, and haven't yet found any instructions on how to do it, when you need to change discs for a PSX multi-disc game, like Metal Gear Solid.

So I am wondering, am I missing something? Do I need to name the Bin/Cue files in a specific manner, and it's automatic, or do I need to do something completely different? I really need help with this, so if anyone can help me, please don't hesitate to do so.

That functionality in Irisman got carried over from the original Iris Manger. Here are the instructions by the developer (in Spanish) on how to use the feature. If you don't speak Spanish, in summary, you need to have your multi-disc games labelled alphanumerically in the same folder, and you need to have a flash drive connected to your console (apart from the one you may be running your games from). When you press X to launch your PS1 game, a menu should pop up to let you choose which game to launch first (you rotate the games using circle).

Do note that the feature may work a bit differently in Irisman. You also have to make sure that you aren't loading the games with Cobra, since it doesn't support the disc-swapping feature. I haven't used Irisman in a while, but there should be an option to choose how to launch the game.

Hope this helps!! (Was meaning to reply yesterday, but I sort of forgot =P)

Edit: Saw your other posts, and there is a nice walkthrough on how to do it in Irisman (and confirmation that it works). If you're asking if it works... you can always try it out by yourself (you only need the feature once you each a certain point in any given game, so there's no problem playing though one and later finding out it doesn't work, as you can use the same save file with a different method to swap discs (like creating a PSX-Classic pkg).

I can translate it for you:

- Run multiple ISOs

Just a condition for multiple ISOs: they all must have the same sector size.

- Iris Manager picks the ISOs in alphanumeric order. When you launch a multiple disc game, you can rotate the order on screen at the right time.
- You can add the COVER.JPG file image (max size 1024 x 1024 pixels)
- PSX config is saved in the game folder.

Example of game file structure:
/dev_usb000 /PSXGAMES /Metal Gear Solid

Code:
 |
 |--- COVER.JPG -> cover image
 |
 |--- MGS1.IMG -> disc 1
 |
 ---- MGS2.IMG -> disc 2
 |
 |-- psx_config.cfg -> psx config. saved from Iris Manager (Memory Card, Video Options...)

With .cue:
/dev_usb000 /PSXGAMES /Metal Gear Solid

Code:
|
 |--- COVER.JPG -> cover image
 |
 |--- MGS1.cue -> disc 1
 |
 |--- MGS1.IMG -> disc 1
 |
 ---- MGS2.cue -> disc 2
 |
 ---- MGS2.IMG -> disc 2
 |
 |-- psx_config.cfg -> psx config. saved from Iris Manager (Memory Card, Video Options...)

just wonder, cause I am guilty and still have not tested any of the latest CFWs nor latest backup manager, but does Irisman still work with loading PSX games? when I have started to apply syscall40 (replacement from syscall15) directly to 4.21 kernel, just like habib has done, PSX games stopped working completely with Irisman, because syscall15 was placed in location where Irisman has copied its PSX payload (I think it was something like 0x1800++) and error'ed out. I then moved syscall15 in kernel on a lower address and everything was working again

@haxxxen are you able to modify the Cobra psx launcher available on brewology :
https://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=248

to be able to create PS3 vmc on the XMB and attach it to it ( PSX slot 1 for exemple) ?
because as right now with a CECH-2001a CFW Cobra Rebug 4.8? when start the game with the Cobra psx launcher and press the PS button on the controller to "marry" the game with my XMB PSX memory card (slot 1) as soon i press x to choose the screen/console freeze and need a force hard reboot and automatically ask to scan/repair system file.... !!

it would become the easiest way to play/create saves files for PAL PS1 ISOs

Did you think its fesable / possible ?!?
