PS3 Is is possible to change fan speed in OtherOS??

I'm just paranoid of my PS3 catching fire (happened once, how sad) And I remember vaguely hearing about someone changing the fan speed within OtherOS! Is it actually true? If so, How the hell? I swear I tried my best to look it up, Thanks to y'all in advance!

You can change syscon fan settings and it'll affect everywhere even on OFW

For real????? Well... Do you know how? Because on Google, I get (what i think is) unrelated to the PS3 about more about normal PCs and their fans..
