Well i had the chip pulled and it does not have a complicated looking pinout its 54 pins/balls 6 by 9, I think i may already know what bga socket it is. I just have to pull it up online. I think its is the same pinout as the backwards compatible ps3
FBGA54 800mhz RDRAM 2.5v
I have been trying to find a chip that matches and not coming up with anything thus far. Im hoping to find something currently in production
Well i may have discovered why adding ram would not work. Correct if i am wrong. According to a AI Generated Answer witch i don't trust, so lets say, its half true.
Each Memory chip of the PS2 is connected to a 16bit bus and thus can't use more memory. Is that correct?
I would have to increase the memory bus of the PS2 in order to use more memory. Is that correct?
So say i find some chips to solder in there that are higher capacity, well they wouldn't work
But there are playstation 2 systems that have more memory, The PSX DVR system i think has 72mb of ram.
How would you in theory increase the ps2 memory bus speed? From what i understand its internal. Is that correct?
I would have to increase it to 32bits instead of 16bits. In a mips /risc system were is the ram bus located? Is it inside the cpu? Is it physical or is it software?, Would i need a different cpu or the other emotion engine to get it to work.

I have some time to waste and i learned something new about the ps2 so its not a complete waste even if i am unsuccessfulI say it again if it was possible it would be already done. Waste of time.
