Issue using ps3xploit on launch A01

So I've always used an e3 or teensy to jailbreak my systems. I wanted to see how this all worked now since everyone has made these awesome tools for us to use.
I installed hfw 4.87 from recovery 2 times on my launch model cech A01. No matter how many times I have cleared cache, cookies, history , resets as soon as the page loads for bgtoolset the ps3 freezes and I can do nothing else but a hard reset, rebuild database, Yada Yada Yada. Any tips?

maybe the flash plugin is disabled. try making a new user profile. don't clear the cookies AFAIK

Also you do not need to install HFW to use BG Toolset, OFW is fine, but afaik HFW should not stop the exploit from working. Other than that I'm not sure, make sure clock is set correctly and after that it should work really.

All I can think is it's some xregistry setting is not right, so do like Coro said and make a new user, this, should give that user default settings.

No dice, tried to new users and it still freezes right after I give the confirmation for flash player or whatever that pop up is.

You could try System Settings > Restore Default Settings if you do not have user information you need on this console. Or if you don't have data on there you need you could try System Settings > Restore PS3 System.

I tried all options in the recovery but the restore one that wipes everything. Don't know why it freezes like that as soon as the web page loads.

No idea tbph. It might be profile related or browser settings related or something else altogether, I dunno.
There had been no freeze reports for a while but seemingly there is still an uncommon situation in which the Toolset may freeze on loading.

Anyway I need much more information than just a freeze report to find out what may cause this freeze. There are hundreds of lines of codes executed, I cannot simply guess which line is the culprit or why and neither esc0 or I ever managed to reproduce the freeze, no matter what we tried, despite hundreds (maybe more, noone is counting) of tests on phat, slim & superslim consoles.
Nobody so far has been willing to spend a single second of their precious time (and btw I am not being cynical, just candid), hunting for this "issue/bug" with me so here we are, I asked various times for help with this but sadly never got any.
I suggest you load the Toolset directly on the logs tab (try this url
** www.** ** www.ps3xploit.net > D...W URL = http://ps3toolset.com)/bgtoolset#logs)
so you can actually post a ss & I can at least see at what stage the Toolset is freezing but afair debugging this issue may take a while & making/trying several new test builds.

Yea I can try that. I really appreciate your time here man. I know how precious time can be. I have very little anymore for anything. I do remember one time I got it not to freeze and when I clicked on the logs tab it listed an error, not that it helps now bc I can't remember what it said. It literally locks up within 5 seconds of loading the page. Ill report back with some better info. I should have some time this evening to piss with it. Thanks

just by chance, are you using wi-fi or ethernet? when I used the toolset on my ps3-fat, since my wi-fi router was a bit "flaky" I experienced one freeze while loading.
so I switched to ethernet (actually used a notebook as wi-fi -> ethernet bridge) and with that I had no problems. Maybe it was a coincidence, but perhaps a stable and responsive connection helps in your case too.

Lol @bguerville . It froze even faster. Literally as soon as it displayed the page it froze. I'm gonna see if I can find a spare drive laying around here to wipe this system and see if I can get any further to at least try and get some answers here. If that fails I'll just go the old tried and true teensy route. I have another A01 I wanted to put it into permanently that has way less use but whatever I guess ill just have to get another one. I'll post any updates here. Thanks

Not sure how you mean but if ever you ticked the box not to ask you again to confirm Flash plugin usage, it would make sense for you to experience the freeze faster next time round.
You should still have stuff written in the logs before it freezes, or at least before the last update, that's what happened.
The last update however may have changed things so I cannot say for sure, you are the first to report a freeze since the update. I even dared hope that the freeze issue was gone, silly me... Lol
And please try what bucanero suggested, just in case there is a timing issue.

So far, it's been after I told people what I am about to tell you, that they never posted on the subject again.. Lol
But here goes anyway.
If after everything you try, the freeze is still there & you wanna help me fix this problem once & for all, you will need to set aside a few hours to test for me & be ready to install/modify whatever I need you to. And we would not be doing it here, it would have to be Telegram based (or pm based but it's far from ideal).
But whatever you decide, let me know how you fare.

I have no problem trying to help you sort this out. What I meant by it freezing faster was that it will show the plug in pop-up, I click yes, it will display the landing page and freeze instantly. I am using wifi. So before I waste anymore of your time let me check that last issue and report back. I've got to run an ethernet cable down to my game room from my router on the first floor. Been meaning to anyways. Thanks again for your time and your help bg and everyone else. I will let you know.

Problem is with the logs there was something there before it started locking up instantly I just can't remember what it reported. Now it freezes so fast I can't scroll the page to see it.

I'm having the exact same issue, flash is enabled, everything is enabled. Hard crash when I load the webpage (Says Initializing please wait) Slim CECH-2001A
