Issue w/ PS3 Backup

Hi. I am trying to backup my PS3 to an external hard drive. Unfortunately my old ext HD ran out of space so I purchased a new HD (USB 3.0) for backup. I used Minitool partition to format the HD to FAT32 and it is MBR. When I click on properties in Windows Explorer in Windows 10, it shows the drive as FAT32. However the PS3 refuses to recognize the drive. Even though the drive is plugged in, it says "Connect Storage Device to Save Location". What am I doing wrong here?

i use THIS to format FAT32. it can make larger volumes than windows can.

System Backup doesn't contains trophies and cannot restore most of the content on another PS3. Just FYI.

And IMO it is total waste of time as in PS3 there is USB 2.0 and forging those archives taking eternity... Instead, copy those data which You want: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/ultimate-userdata-backup-guide.29037/

It was a 320GB drive. After using the program posted by Coro, my HD was recognized by PS3 and successfully completed backup.
