It’s possible to direct transfer files between 2 PS3?

Hello guys!
Since my 4.85 PS3 HEN broke the USB ports (Now doesn't read any USB) I was wondering if it's possible to transfer files between 2 PS3. My "backup" PS3 it's a 4.81 CFW D-REX REBUG. (So it's 4.85 HFW to 4.81 CFW)
I want to transfer photo/videos, and, if possible, some games.
It's possible to do this?

its not possible to ftp directly from one ps3 to another because there is no ftp "client" for ps3, only ftp "server" apps. if it was possible you would have to rebuild database to before the files would show on xmb.

a homebrew to do this would be nice.

the easiest way (if you want files from the hen ps3 to goto cfw ps3) is to plug usb into pc and ftp the files onto the usb then plug it into cfw.

i think yow mean FTP but you need a pc or a phone to do that not directly but will be a solution for you

There is a way, but its a little tricky as you have no USB stick access to install anything.. You would need to burn a CD or DVD with some app pkgs on it. Then you could use that disc to install a background FTP server like webMAN MOD. Then load on games and mount them with that.

Then you could also manage media with FTP, Or burn discs with media on and copy if from them using the XMB.

If you also had no working CD/DVD drive or no blank discs you could use a web exploit to install the webMAN sprx and boot_plugins.txt, but that would be more hassle so use the CD/DVD method.

I think if he already had FTP access to the NO-USB console there would not be any issue.

lol yeah i assumed he already had ftp...and that files were coming from hen to cfw machine...

Thank you everyone for the replies!

That's the reply that I was looking for, even if sadly, it's negative.

I know about the FTP method (Both consoles haves FTP access with MultiMAN and WebMAN) but honestly I want to avoid it because I will be not able use the PC for a little bit of time, and I think that FTP with an iPhone it's very hard, if not, impossible to do it.
P.S: Thanks about the CD/DVD method, I didn't know about it!

you can use a direct connection with an ethernet cable. this is the official way to transfer content between two systems. this will delete the content on the destination system though: https://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/transferutility.html

I've already read about this but the website says:
"Update the system software of both PS3™ systems to the latest version."
None of my systems haves the latest version (The main system is 4.85 HFW, the backup one is 4.81 DEX CFW) and I can't update the HEN to 4.86 because the USB ports are broken (And I don't trust to update via internet)
And honestly I don't want to lose the files.

Yes you can, I've done it a while ago, there's a feature in multiman that allows you to stream games from a PC or a PS3, you can also use this feature to transfer files.

The problem with is that it doesn't transfer games in the "Folder" or JB format , Multiman just crashes instantly, you can however transfer games that are already extracted in the "game" folder, i.e: games that are extracted from the pkg file. It also works with iso if I'm not mistaken.

I've tried transferring a video that was 200kb in size, and it worked fine but I didn't test it with more than that

My memory is a bit rusty so bear with me:

1-Set up a manual connection between the two devices using an ethernet(use the same Subnet Mask, Default Router, and DNSs in both systems, but different IPs, if you don't already know that)

2- Open multiman and go to settings Remote Access Permissions and set it to "Full" (I've done this in both systems because idk, although in theory you should just do it for the system you want to access)

3- In the system you want files to be transferred to, open multiman and go to Settings, and then Network Servers and choose Nethost-Enable, enter the IP address, leave the Port number unchanged. and enter my nickname as the server's name.

4- Use Multiman's file manager and you should see it there.

5- After you transfer your files, Rebuild Database

Then your limited to the burning of CD/DVD/BD media....

How can you not use a PC while you FTP files from a PS3...? Even a PC that's has hardware thats 15 years old could FTP files while you use the PC to game or whatever..

Even for using the internet all you do is set the IVP4 priority on the LAN below the WiFi in both Adapter settings and you will still get max FTP speeds and internet access without each function fighting for bandwidth.

I think your looking for a Magic solution without taking into account the practical limitations and options you have... your not going to find the quick easy magic solution, in your case its one way or the other > FTP or burned media.

I don't know what else to suggest if the pc is out of the picture.

Let's break this down:
1. Your usb ports will NOT magically start working...these are NOT an option
2. You are afraid of the internet, updating, etc...so internet is out
3. You have some inability to use a computer to ftp to your console...so ftp is out
4. You have not only differing versions of firmware, but dex and cex as well as the negligence of not keeping systems in same versioning.

Here are your options:
1. Try using dvd/bd
2. Get over your fear of internet updating
3. Use the computer and FTP it, like you are afraid or reserved to do.
4. Buy a new ps3
5. Start earning an electronics degree with a multimeter and solder gun

Either way, you've shut down good advice that gave you options. Now you have limited yourself to apathy and those 5 options..
