PS4 Just concerned about my account.

Forum Noob
I play a lot of Playstation and my account is very valuable to me. I recently upgraded to PS5 and so my PS4 Pro has been collected a little dust and (thankfully) not updating past 9.00.

I am planning to jailbreak the PS4, but I just want to be aware if there's any risks to my account associated with doing so. Should I take precautionary measures and factory reset my PS4 first? Thank you for reading, happy holidays!

You don't need to factory reset your PS4 first. Do it before updating if you ever decide to update to avoid a ban and you'll be good. I suggest making a full system backup before jailbreaking just in case you want an easy way of restoring all games and saves, or at the very least backup the saves. According to a post on a different forum, you should keep your console disconnected from the internet at all times, as Sony can remotely deactivate digital PSN content even when using an online DNS method instead of a selfhost.
Happy holidays!
