Ok. Nice of you...
I'm don´t know very into what's happening, but from what I understood the webMAN from version 1.45.05 is no longer supporting the Launchpad? So I should not update the webMAN any more if I want to keep the Launchpad?Hi Chris. Thanks, but unfortunately Im not releasing any Launchpad for Rebug 4.81.
A user reported an issue with the xml generation for this freezing their console and I could not reproduce the problem myself, possibly due to something in their game collection. I have it working here perfectly with webMAN 1.45.04 and Rebug 4.81 but Im not going to package it up and release it due to this freezing issue. Also due to this freezing issue webMAN mod will not support generating the games list for Launchpad on newer versions (1.45.05 or higher), so that in turn will only cause even more issues in future as it will stop generating the game list automatically if people update.
So that's why Im not going to release it.
Please DONT try to manually install the 4.80 Rebug version or the 4.81 CEX version on Rebug 4.81 as that will cause other issues as the files are different.
Note for other CFW users: Launchpad v0.16 still works fine - Use webMAN MOD 1.45.04 FULL edition if on Rebug 4.80.1 and use webMAN MOD 1.45.02 FULL edition if on any of the other 4.81 Cobra CEX CFWs.
You will need to use only the webMAN-MOD builds that DeViL303 releases.I'm don´t know very into what's happening, but from what I understood the webMAN from version 1.45.05 is no longer supporting the Launchpad? So I should not update the webMAN any more if I want to keep the Launchpad?
Is the incompatibility only in Rebug 4.81?
So if I want to use new versions of webMAN in Launchpad, should I expect a build by DeViL303? I wonder if this problem hits other CFWS like DARKNET 4.81 7.3 or Ferrox 4.81 7.3? I really wanted to use the new webMAN by Cause of RetroArch, I found the idea perfect, but also do not want to give up the Launchpad,so I'll wait the specific webMAN versionYou will need to use only the webMAN-MOD builds that DeViL303 releases.
You cannot use the standard webMAN-MOD updater from aldostools anymore from 1.45.05 onwards.
Or you need to compile webMAN-MOD yourself...
An issue with the launchpad was noticed during the 4.81.1 prerelease tests.
However the decision to remove the feature from wMM was not taken because of an incompatibility with Rebug 4.81.1 in particular but because the feature was in general considered a source of potential issues even when it worked.
Also for reference, the issue that eventually hastened the decision to remove the launchpad was found by Joonie when testing JB games on fat32 iirc, the launchpad caused the console to freeze at random. It's still unclear why, maybe because of the param.sfo files or game naming... More testing would be required.
If someone is interested, feel free to help.. [emoji6]

Thanks for the detailed explanation,I understood now what is going on. I will continue using the version of webMAN 1.45.04 with the Launchpad, since it told me that there are no differences between 1.45.04 and 1.45.05. A doubt that I always had , But I always forgot to ask. Is there any way of Launchpad show the games without using connection with internet? As of now there is no difference between webMAN 1.45.04 and webMAN 1.45.05 . EXCEPT that Launchpad is not supported, So I suggest you keep using 1.45.04 until there are some new features worth updating for. I will occasionally release a version of webman that supports launchpad, maybe once a month..So I wont be updating it every few days or anything like that. But also anyone who can compile webman , can compile one with Launchpad defined and share it, as aldo has left the Launchpad code in the source, so I don't think it will be an issue.
@kozarovv already posted a build of 1.45.05 back in post #394 that will work with Launchpad too.
So far only 1 user had an issue, and no one else could reproduce it, they were also having issues with prepNTFS, so it is possible that the bug is limited to one person. So I would not worry too much about it, If you do have the freezing issue then you can update webMAN to 1.45.05 or newer to fix it.
Also the person (joonie) with the freezing issue did not even have Launchpad installed, so there is no known bug with Launchpad itself.
The other thing to remember is, if you don't change your games location, then you can keep on using your current wm_launchpad.xml , you can add the occasional new game manually, so you don't actually need webMAN to support Launchpad xml generation as generating an xml on every boot is not required on most setups, the bug was maybe in the webMAN xml generation, but it was not in Launchpad.
I suggest that users of this make a backup up the file dev_hdd0/tmp/wm_launchpad.xml and also having a look at it in a text editor, it is very easy to add new games manually.
No , unfortunately not, not yet anyway, it is probably possible, but I don't know how.Is there any way of Launchpad show the games without using connection with internet?
So if Sony shut down the Server of PSN for PS3, the Launchpad would stop working, since a PSN account is needed? Is that it? Or did I dream too much?No , unfortunately not, not yet anyway, it is probably possible, but I don't know how.

I've want make a backup of xregistry.sys.Not exactly, you don't need to make any connections to PSN, it will even work on banned consoles, but 2 conditions need to be met for Launchpad to work.
1. There needs to be a PSN account attached to the user that's logged in locally (doesn't need to be signed into PSN), this is info checked in the xregistry.sys file. Main reason for this seems to be so that the Whats New item will show adverts from the correct region, in the case of Launchpad this is irrelevant though, but the check is still made.
2. There needs to be a valid working internet connection, if there is not then the Whats New (Launchpad) does not attempt to load. This is another check built into the system.
Anyway Sony can not block Launchpad from working ever as long as you have your xregistry.sys file (it is a file that is good to backup anyway)
The Rebug team, if I am not mistaken, made a tool for xregistry.sys. I will try to use this tool, in the Toolbox I think it is also possible. I am not remembering. I would like to know if the games of RetroArch will now appear too in the Launchpad list? You can use one file on multiple PS3s, it contains your PSN details and your system settings like wifi setup etc. It should be fine to use one from 4.75 on 4.81 and higher, I doubt sony are going to change anything like that now this late in the consoles life.
It is very handy to have this file backed up, because if you restore or you format your system then you can just put this on and all your settings and user accounts are back in place.
The file is located at dev_flash2/etc , with a backup located at dev_flash2/etc/backup/ .
You may as well copy it manually. There is no risk associated to XRegistry backup. You don't even need to enable /dev_blind...The Rebug team, if I am not mistaken, made a tool for xregistry.sys. The Rebug tool name is xReg Plus? You may as well copy it manually. There is no risk associated to XRegistry backup. You don't even need to enable /dev_blind...
The tool does the exact same job.
Rebug Toolbox can also back it up, look at the last entry in the Utilities Column.

Just checkingIm fairly sure all of that was from the 1.45.04 change log, except the note at the bottom. For example ROMs are already supported in 1.45.04.
Just checkingMy bad I looked only on github, where old changelog for .04 don't exist now.
Edit: So sprx that I compiled before is good candidate to "most useless stuff I ever made". Lol
Btw. http://www.psx-place.com/threads/4-...bug-toolbox-v02-02-11.11940/page-4#post-65370Im not 100% sure, check the source on github of that last commit, there might be a few very small changes not related to Launchpad.
EDIT: just one actually, very small change to netclient.h , not sure if its related to Launchpad..
