PS3 Life with Playstation (PS3) request

Since Playstation decided to kill of Life with Playstation back in the day, I was wondering if someone could port a linux version of Folding@home to the PS3's game os side without need of risking linux?

I have a Nand PS3 AND Linux tutorials are vague on what real file needed for petitboot. DtbImage.ps3.bin.minimal/dtbImage.ps3.bin (renamed) [????idk???].
Anyway, I would love to utilize this again if possible on the ps3 as a pkg.

Idk...I just know ps3 is more linux based but I personally dont mind from what format, as long as doable. I know that ps3 architecture is ppc, but can do linux is why I mentioned linux.
My point is that a pkg would just be erased. I know very little about Linux on the PS3, but I think you might be able to install it through @Evilnat .

Sorry, I misread your first post. Yes, installing Linux on PS3 would format hdd. I was trying to avoid all of that is why I was wondering if someone/somehow was able to port a Linux version/ or whatever version of the app to the PS3's Game OS so we can use on that without needing Linux OS.
I was describing my issue in doing Linux on my A01 because different guides say different dtbimage.ps3.bin.minimal file requirements and everytime time I ask no one replies. I don't wanna brick is why personally haven't done Linux yet. One guide says use dbtImage.bin.minimal, another says use that file but to rename it to just dtbImage.bin (like for nor, but not nor file). This is why I am at a stand still with doing Linux OS. Along with supposed petitboot crashing horror stories. I also dont have an hw flasher.

dunno, my friend. I've never installed linux on the ps3, but I'm sure it's very limited. I only use linux on my pc, but even then, it's just wslv2. I may do full linux on my next pc, but I'm kinda nervous about it. I still consider myself an amateur at cmdline, even though I've learned a ton over the past two or three years. right now, I just use linux, msys2, dkp, android studio, and visual studio to compile stuff. that's about all I do with my pc aside from just cruising the internet and chatting on discord.

I agree, it would be awesome to bring Folding@home back to the PS3 without relying on Linux. Unfortunately, porting it as a PKG would likely require significant development work and tools not publicly available. If someone figures it out, I'd love to see it happen too!

Sorry I haven't responded, I was having account issues on here. Yea folding@home would be awesome again. From whatever platform would be awesome if able. I would use almost daily to contribute to cancer research/ other medical.

So I did manage to get this to work by manually updating the param.sfo and changed version to 1.22, changed out param.sfo after mod, rebuilt database and it fully booted. Just not live servers because servers are down, no folding capability, but its one step closer. I download from nopsn.com btw and went from there. I will say file did not say nopsn so psn could potentially still be usable. If someone knows how.
