like vs thank

What's the difference?

If someone is disliked a lot, do they get a suspension or something? I imagine not too much tomfoolery will happen here with people not liking each other.

Oh, maybe an "Other Console" section for discussion; not really like homebrew or something, but discussions, advice, etc. Maybe for trading, idk.
 
I would believe thanks is what you'd use when you get something out of the post. Maybe like an update or some download link, idk anything that makes you feel like you've got something from it. Like is when you use it for something like a top comment or agreement. Well that's just how I look at it :P
In some other sites they only have a 'thanks' button whereas others only have a 'like' button.
 
that's what is confusing me...there's both a like and a thanks. i might just stick to like.

maybe you like posts in general and thank when something is useful. i guess what you said but in a way that makes sense to me :p

It really means the same things as it does in the English Language.

Would you say "thanks" to someone when you would use "Like" or vice versa?
 
Aren't they two different types of words?

I really don't know..."i like your post" vs "thanks for this post" seem like the same thing almost with maybe thanks being more rare.

Use what you "like"

See i would not say use what you "thanks".

Either you like a post or you thank someone for the post. The choice is yours..

Someone says something funny you might like it.

When someone gives help or advice you may use Thanks.

I feel like a contrarian, but i could thank someone for making me laugh and like someone's advice.

i guess it's up to the person, but i mostly get what you're saying. i guess it's good there are two positives and only one negative.

I would "Like" to "Thank" you for this thread, I have actually used both. I haven't used "Dislike" yet, don't be the 1st [MENTION=68]JOshISPoser[/MENTION] :bitsbubba:
