PS2 Looking for advice on painting a PS2 Fat shell (scratch removal & restoration)

Hello everyone,
I'm planning to restore my PlayStation 2 Fat by repainting the outer shell, mainly to cover up some scratches and give it a refreshed look. Since the console casing is ABS plastic, I'd like to make sure I use the right approach and materials to avoid damaging it over time.
I'd especially appreciate recommendations from anyone who has experience in:
  • Model painting / plastic painting
  • Restoring or repainting console shells (particularly PS2 Fat units)
What I'd like to know:
  • Which type/brand of paint works best for ABS without causing issues in the long run?
  • How many layers should ideally be applied for a smooth, durable finish?
  • Are there specific paints or finishes that won't react negatively with the plastic as the years go by?
Any step-by-step tips, product recommendations, or photos of your own painted consoles would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge!
