PS3 Looking for users with RSOD on their PS3.

@Vitor Leão no thanks. I would rather wait to try the fix from @Joonie . I've tried that method several times, and while it does work, I'm interested in a permanent fix.

This is the one that has RSOD patch. install this first

Enter this mode, and then download Lv2diag.self that I uploaded here, and put that on your USB root (FAT32 formatted), then turn off your PS3, then plug the USB that has the file.

Then turn back on, it should blink then make beep then exit to XMB. Send me the rsodfix.log from your USB after it's finished.

@Joonie Here it is. Thanks for your work!

For anyone else doing this, a couple tips:
- With RSOD, I installed Rebug 999 Downgrader via Recovery Mode, and then installed the provided RSOD Rebug via Recovery Mode.
- I used the Toggle Factory Mode option in the "Network - Custom Firmware Tools" section. I didn't use any of the FSM packages out there.
- While rebooting into FSM with the USB plugged; make sure you plug it into the port on the right side.

How do I get into FSM from 4.84?

Toggle CFW settings from the rebug toolbox:

Then go to the Network column -> CFW Firmware Tools -> Service Tools -> Advanced Service Tools -> Toggle Factory Service Mode

Then do the same to exit FSM once you did the lv2diag.self procedure.

While still on REBUG 4.84_1 RSOD, I'm still getting trophy messages and 80022D90 error, which I think indicates there is still a corruption. I can install 4.84_2 non-RSOD later to confirm.

Hi

the ps3 I have here had rsod problem. rsod_fix.pkg fixed the issue.
after a month , it freezed during the game's loading.

So turned it off manually and turn on again. the screen says "Serious Error has occurred etc"
things I tried:
noFSM methodm, FSM method, replace NOR(spansion), another NOR(samsung), replace cvtrm
area with a donor(working one) , read/write via e3 linker

in all cases above still same problem.
I cant toggle to FSM cause the first things pop up is that error.
I access to recovery but all options there give me that error.

the ps3 was on cfw 4.55(cech-2512b)
I have a good dump

thanks @Joonie

Seeing that you already tried flashing and have gone as far as replacing the chip the problem is probably beyond data corruption... Anyway:
Have you tried using another HD?
Have you tried installing another CFW with Rsod Bypass true the recovery mode?

I recently managed to resolve @SiegHart93 's chronic RSOD,

He's been running rsod fix pkg released by @haxxxen almost every 2-3days every time the trophy issue comes back which its permanent fix has been known as NOR flash replacement for typical CECH-L units.

I actually have a couple of fixes but he only needed to run the unofficial fix that was released for 3.55 days.

I only resigned it to ensure it works on 4.84 and he claimed that his unit's no longer having trophy issue coming from RSOD.

It's basically the old lv2diag.self method 6 years ago which appears to be still working.

I also have another solution that has not yet been tested on retail units (but DECR), So therefore I'm looking for those units have have RSOD issues. Please reply here if anyone's willing to fix this problem.

i have a CFW working and i was runing all my games normally, after a while i started to receive a trophy error and i cant play anymore.

i tried to rebuild data base
i tried to downgrade but couldnt
i tried to upgrade and couldnt

i happen to believe is a VTRM problem and need help fixing it please let me know what other info u might need in desperate

I have a CECH 2501A with RSOD. I can't even get it into recovery (safe) mode to even attempt to fix it. When I turn it on it gies to a loading screen initially to try and update the update I was attempting to install when this happened. Then it goes to RSOD from there. It is on Rogero 3.55 downgrader and I was attempting to install Rebug cfw when this happened. Is there a fix for this. I have a E3 flasher and I have a clean hex file for this console. Does this help at all?

Update: It's been a while since my last comment but i forgot to mention that the Lv2diag.self @Joonie gave to us works pretty well but it had a side effect (at least on my PS3 CECHL01). The fix works fine just with the games that you have already installed the trophies, you could run those games without any kind of problems and the savedatas works fine too and yes, you can install another CFW without the typical error when the RSOD is active, everything works like the ps3 never had RSOD until you try to install a new game it just refuses to install the trophies like the RSOD, The only temporary fix for that is to run the RSOD fix pkg, install the new game trophies and then enter again FSM mode through rebug toolbox and run again the Lv2diag.self.

Another issue is that the Lv2diag.self fix doesn't work if your ps3 doesn't have a psn account with linked trophies. Without the psn account it just works temporary as the rsod fix pkg and and the trophies are erased by themselves coz the RSOD.

I think when a NOR flash gets corrupted its pretty hard to fix with software only, a replacement for another NOR is the best solution but the most expensive...

Hi All, Hi @Joonie,

I was on Cobra Rebug CFW 4.82 CEX Lite. I was attempting to convert to DEX but this never happened because the eidrootkey did not seem to work or dump or ask me to convert.
(I have a CECHKxx - Model K - "80gb" console)

So I thought I would downgrade to OFW 3.55 and then try updating to OFW 4.82 again and get onto CFW from there.

I tried using the Rogero 999 downgrader from XMB it worked up until the point where I had to update via the FSM using the V37A.PUP
Even with the QA toggled on I couldn't access the L2 L1 L3 R1 R2 down dpad. Didn't quite do anything when I pressed the buttons in sequence and at the same time.
Tried to install the update and it did not work.

I additionally then did something stupid. I put on the OFW 3.55 update on the usb and tried to update from XMB and it then gave me and RSOD.

Now I cannot boot to the XMB or even to recovery menu.
It just starts up wanting to resume the update and boom after 1 second I get an RSOD.

I tried to put on this Lv2diag.self from JaiCraB.NoBDv1 on the usb root and the following log was received.

What options do I have? Seeing as I tried taking out the HDD and now it seems to have worsened as I can't get any visual and the green light just keeps flickering.

Many thanks!

Hi guys,

Just want to further mention that I tried updating to V37A from recovery mode and not FSM.
Also I may or may not have enabled the FSM from the Cobra Rebug Toolbox.
:( :(

Please reason with me, I understand that what I've done is probably quite idiotic.
My knowledge is limited at this.

Could I possibly use PSPJig whilst on the Rogero 3.55 downgrader FW?
Would I get stuck in FSM?
