PS3 Looking for users with RSOD on their PS3.

i have got a PS3 superslim which I hardly used over the last 2 years(bought it to replace my dying PS3 phat but never got the time). It was on 4.82 ofw with hen installed. Everything was working perfectly few months back when i last checked it. I took it out to sell it as i no longer needed it. To test it tried to play some backups but all of them gave black screen. I thought of updating the hen and fw. Updated it to 4.86.2 hfw after watching google recommended video on yt.

Had it fixed and on Rebug 4.80.1 in about 20 minutes. Can't believe my luck. I was looking into playing with netcheat and was wondering if their were any good tutorials out there. How do you find the memory address range to work with?

I need your help, i've bypassed a rsod installing cfw evilnat 4.88 but i have problem with games not loading or giving error. i've seen on the net that is dued to the rsod so i would like to know how to fix rsod using advanced service tools under service tools ?

Si vous rencontrez des erreurs de chargement de trophées et que le jeu ne démarre pas, utilisez ce pkg. Cela a fonctionné pour moi.

merci pour votre réponse, est-ce que c'est une solution définitive ou temporaire ? je pose la question parce que sur certains forums les gens disent que le problème survient après. il y a un outil dans cfw evilnat 4.88 pour permet de résoudre mais je ne sais pas y procéder

Mon plaisir. Il s'agit d'un correctif permanent. Cela résout en quelque sorte le problème VTRM. Si vous avez des trophées existants, vous les perdrez. Je n'ai jamais eu de problème après l'avoir utilisé.

Regarding rsod, vtrm reinitialization is a permanent fix if & only if the rsod issue is caused by a freak vtrm region corruption in Flash memory, but if ever the vtrm region corruption is caused by a defective NOR chip, rsod may keep coming back in which case a proper fix would imply replacing the nor chip on the main board.
I suppose time will tell..

You are welcome.
If ever you use lv2diag, be careful, don't forget to exit diag mode properly & never try to install a firmware in diag mode.
If you use Evilnat 4.88.2 or a Rebug CFW, there should be a rsod fix feature in the CFW Tools, no need to use lv2diag.self.

when I tried the tools in Evilnat 4.88 I got the error "VTRM init failed" and with lv2diag.self i had a text file

I haven't used the rsod fix in years.
I don't really remember but with CFW Tools (Evilnat 4.88.2 or Rebug) I think you need to enter FSM mode first before you can use the rsod fix feature.

The lv2diag log seems to indicate that the fix was successfully applied..

Did you exit FSM mode & reboot before trying to load a game?

yes I enter FSM mode plug the usb key with the lv2diag.self on the root, the console restarted and I heard a bit after that is restarted again and got to xmb

For Elvinat 4.88 i also entrerred fsm mode

1. OK but did you exit FSM mode properly?

2. You never said whether you are still getting the red screen of death?
If you still get the red screen of death despite a successful vtrm region reinitialization then it's most likely a hardware failure problem ie a chip needs replaced on the main board.

1.the fsm was exited after the console rebooted
2.I am no more getting rsod

What kind of games are you using?
Retail discs?
Or backups? In iso or JB format?

I am using pkg iso and JB format games.
with FIFA 21 the trophies checking stuck at 0% and for the others error 80022D90

0x80022D90 is "Bad cVTRM region in flash".

If rsod comes back and/or you keep having errors related to vtrm, it's one of 2 possibilities.
1. The vtrm region was not reinitialized properly and the reinitialization process must be done again.
2. The nor chip is defective & needs changed.
 
I installed rsod fix pkg and everything is working but I don't know if it is a permanent fix.
