PS3 Looking to upgrade storage medium

Hi I have a PS3 CECH-2511A. Currently it has a 500 GB HDD, I need to upgrade to a bigger HDD. I am considering to buy a SSD, the Crucial MX500 1 TB (CT1000MX500SSD1). Will it be compatible with my PS3?

it is better to use hdd. sdd will not be as fast as it will be in a pc or newer console. also ps3 lacks trim function that keep ssd running smoothly.

I use to say to dont buy SSD's specifically for the PS3 because is a money investment where you are not sure if is going to work, some brand/models gives problems
If you have an SSD at home unused then yeah just try it and see if it works fine, maybe you are lucky

Otherway, if you really want to buy a new SSD stick to the brand/models reported as fully compatible with the PS3 by oter people
As far i remember @RandQalan reported a samsung EVO in the forum some weeks ago (dont remember the exact model, check his posts to find it)
