ManaGunZ

PS3 ManaGunZ - PS3 Backup Manager by Zar v1.41

Yes, is correct

Right now i'm working on retroarch cores
For some reason i imagined it days ago :P

Also, the multilangage feature is a pita ^^'.
Cool, just a question, are you focusing in the translation of managunz messages, or in displaying the game titles inside managunz with the local language choosen by the user in the ps3 xmb ?
Are different things, the first one needs help from people making the translations... and the second one doesnt needs help (there is nothing to translate because the translated game titles names are in the PARAM.SFO) but is more tricky
Anyway, if you need help with spanish translations or other details send me a pm

--------
One doubt that came to mind now you talking about PSP... what happens when trying to boot a PSP game with managunz in a non-cobra firmware ?
This should be managed by the mamba inside mangunz, right ?... but im not sure how functional is it
There are some PSP features missing in comparison with cobra ?

I guess both... the 1st one for sure, the 2nd didn't think about it but it can be done easily ;)

I don't rly know. I know it's working but I don't know the details. But I think cobra=mamba.

I don't know what u imagined about retroarch, perhaps an integration in mgz like multiMAN?
This isn't my intention. I love Retroarch, I'm just trying to make it better on ps3 ;)

Yes i thought that, my mistake, is because i did remember months ago you was trying to fix some problems to compile retroarch in psl1ght, and now you mentioned the cores... so i put the two ideas together and thought you was planning to integrate the full retroarch in managunz (or only the cores and replace the frontend) and compile everything under PSDK3V2

Personally i think there is a disadvantage in including retroarch inside managunz, because retroarch is released more frequently so all managunz releases will contain an "obsolete" version of retroarch pretty fast

Inside managunz could be fine, but i like retroarch standalone too

I think a good alternative to that ^ would be if MGZ could launch cores from the standalone RetroArch. So it could act as a front end for RetroArch, but still be updated separately from MGZ. Don't know if that's possible but it's an idea :P

@Zar Do you plan to upload config editor to github? If yes, then cool. :) If no, then can I do this? I want to make few changes, but i need to do it on some public place like GH because i strongly need code review by so many people as possible because i'm not programmer, and i can mess something instead of fix. :P

Just a thought about the ps2 config editor, i think could be nice to have 2 editor modes (or more) to separate the commands based on its complexity

The first group (or the "simple edition mode") should be the commands that works as switches an only allows to enable or disable the command (like the baldur's gate config)... are the ones that appears on wiki as "only 1 param" and that param could be represented as a 1 (enabled) or 0 (disabled)... like a boolean
The point of having a "simple editor mode" with this ones is because are the ones that can be used randomly, like playing lottery, is not even needed to know what the command does, the user can enable some of them just to try luck... The resulting can be random (most probably the game is not going to work but maybe works) but the editor assures you the command is correctly applyed so is very useful and simplifyes the tests a lot
This "simple editor mode" is actually what fits well inside managunz

The other commands where is needed to use offsets, sizes, accurate values, hook functions, etc... i think is better to separate them in another tab like "advanced editor mode"
With this ones the user cant play the "lottery game" i mentioned because the chances of success by using random bytes are minimal
This editor mode doesnt fits inside managunz, nobody is going to use it like this by writing lot of bytes in managunz, even if you know what is needed to write in it, doesnt seems to be handy because is better to prepare the config file in PC

I guessed is what the actual version of the editor does, i was not sure if appears all and only those commands thought
I wrote it mostly as a recap to put in order my thoughts, im not sure if it was discussed before, and as suggestion to kozarovv now he plans to expand the editor, my point is it can be nice to use "tabs" to separate commands in groups... and every group displayed in a different way

@sandungas I'm not sure that you are aware that Config Editor is an PC app. Just saying. ;) Anyway.. Try it, because i think that things you are suggesting are already there. :)

@Zar I found bug. PS2 BIN-CUE is mounted as PS1 disc, which make it unplayable. Tested with webman MOD, and it mount game as PS2 CD like it should.

mmh it's weird, Can you tell me which one i'll try to fix it.
Tested with Gradius 3&4 - is one cd, and with French and EU versions of "Oni" and Ridge Racer 5. Seems like sman have the same problem.

I think all CD based games in bin-cue format have issue. Games are stored in PS2ISO folder. FW is latest Rebug with cobra enabled. And default settings in toolbox.
