PS2 mini-OPL v1.0

Thanks. I tried this special OPNPS2LD alone and it launching as standard OPL.

I renamed my OPL on common, then create new, put Yours hdd cfg there and OPNPS2LD + the rest of the configs on "hdd0:/+OPL" and it works.

So it is definitely fault of some setting, but which one... and why? :/

Thanks for help. ^^

edit:
  • I have tried also config for __common/OPL and also works.
  • Another test: leaving there only OPL build "conf_hdd.cfg" and Yours "conf_opl.cfg" and still works.
  • Replacing conf_opl by mine, makes return to browser.
edit2:
Ok, I found the bastard. With PS2 Logo turned on doesn't work. With disabled works. :)

Greetings.
The only entries read from conf_opl.cfg are these
https://github.com/ps2homebrew/Open...8cbfa3886728470b6d45fd0f67be7d11145a94c3R1711
only thing that I would think could have any affect on game loading would be "ps2logo" .. @Berion check yours and his cfg if yours is on but his is off then there it is.. OPL code would then need to be changed to remove that one line.

Oh shit snap lmao you edited right as I posted and it is ps2logo.. I'll see if I can edit source files from my phone but.. Idk if it will work

Awesome

Aww man. I tried doing the same. I disabled the PS2 logo but I still got a black screen and got stuck there.

I may need to go back a few pages and maybe I didn't use the correct files. If possible, can anyone just attach the working launcher, OPNPS2LD, and the cfg?

OPNPS2LD You have in Krahs R3 archive (soon it will be just official OPL beta in repository when changes will be merged with it). XLF You can find in Alex Parrado attachment or mine (both works, but Alex's is fully proper). They are older than this one but works:
https://github.com/ps2homebrew/OPL-Launcher
If You cut first 48 bytes and sign by Alex's kelftool, You will have newest one.

When You turning off the logo, remember to save changes. FYI, just in case. ;p

Alright. It still didn't work. Maybe it's the game. I'll try another game. What games did you guys test that work?

EDIT: I tested other games.

Twisted Metal Black Online - stuck in black screen
Ico - stuck in white screen
God Hand - stuck in white screen
Black - boots
Bully - boots
Gran Turismo 4 - boots
Okami - boots
Rogue Galaxy - boots
Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories - boots

Those that didn't work are less than 2GB each.

Black - works

The two that didn't work are CD games. I'll test a few more.
Do you experience same behavior when OPL is launched from uLE?

P.S. Ico worked for me.

No, just OPL.

Then yeah, it works. I'll try another game that is less than 2GB.

EDIT: I tested a few more games

Shinobi - stuck in white screen
Dark Cloud - stuck in white screen
Zone of the Enders - boots
Motorstorm Arctic Edge - boots

Those that didn't boot are less than 2GB.

Zone of the Enders is 2GB and it boots.

EDIT2: This less than 2GB theory isn't right. I tested Sly Cooper and it got stuck in a white screen even though it's more than 2GB.

I see. I guess those games failing on black/white screen do work when OPL is launched from uLE. One more question are you using hdl_dump to inject DVD/CD?

It's a mix of HDLGameInstaller and hdl_dump.

Zone of the Enders was installed using HDLGameInstaller but it works.

When You listing titles, use also ID. ICO which works for both of us is NTSC-U, but PAL and NTSC-J could not work (I don't know that, this is just example that games from different regions and even editions on the same region can don't work).

Today I tested Ico (SCUS-97113) and... it stops working. Hang on black screen and orange led blink like crazy. When I removed my settings again, leaving only conf_hdd and conf_opl with disabled logo, it starts working.

On other hands, I tried Grandia 2 (SLES-50498) and stuck on white screen, when the same Grandia 2 boots fine from the same OPNPS2LD.ELF which loader from APA launching. So I thinking, there is still problems with config and with taking parrams by OPL.

Tried on current loader (pre-release) and also on loader from R3 test.

@TnA I don't understand what You asking for. When it hangs on black screen, only thing which I can do is power off by long keeping pressed power button.

Yesterday I was so sure that issue only lies in logo but it looks like it is not the only one but some other setting interfere (from conf_game and/or conf_network which is rather strange... because conf_opl is still the same in working and not working environment; I don't have conf_apps as I'm start to use new apps system).
