Modchips and No Signal Issues

This had the modbo 3.0 modchip installed in it. I used it for 3 years just fine. I use fmcb 1.965 with opl

Last week I decided to remove the modchip. I have experience with micro soldering and pcb repairs. I tested the board after removing the modchip and it booted just fine.

2 days later, I thought, what if my memory card got corrupted? How do I prepare fmcb without booting into ule from burned disk? Do I chase old friends who are busy raising children? So I started installing the modchip back. Spent 3 hours cutting the wires, soldering it with my temp controlled soldering station and arranging the wires neatly. Used the continuity meter to check for bridges and confirmed connections. All okay.

After soldering, I assembled the heatsink fan back and switched it on. RESULT: NO SIGNAL

Hmmm....

Go back to the continuity meter and no problems found.

De-soldered 3.3v and GND wires off the modchip and tried booting. RESULT: NO SIGNAL

Hmm...

F@¢£√ S𶩣€ !!!

De-soldered the modchip and used good flux to get nice solder blobs on all ABYMNO... points to avoid bridging. Cleaned the PCB with alcohol.

Put the heatsink back and powered it on. RESULT: NO SIGNAL

SAD SAD DEPRESSION

The ps2 behaves perfectly normal. Fan spins. The red light turns green. The lens assembly moves back to its resting position when I open the lid. The board and its components warm up. But its just that there is no audio and no video output.
Tried removing cmos battery. Tried the rgb/component button combination trick. Tried inspecting the video rail(pin 6) with an oscilloscope. There is nothing on that video pin. There is also nothing on the audio pin. Both the A and V rails are dead on the oscilloscope.

How is this even possible?

Can a modchip fry critical components? Google search reveals many people complaining about blank screens after inatalling modchips. Issue persists after removing the chip. Can any modchip guru confirm this hazard?

What to do now?

Can a mod shift this thread to the ps2 section.

I failed to notice there was a seperate section

Pin 6 on which IC? Sounds like the DAC for the video / audio and the output pin to the A/V connector, did you check the inputs to that IC? Do you have any signals coming from the GPU to the DAC?
