PS3 Modded Recovery mode

Hello! Is there a chance to create an emer_init.self modded to extract Eid Root Key? It can help a lot of ps3 stucks in update loop.

If we can extract the ERK it will help to edit the HD on pc and create the system folders necessary to boot.

Update loops related to HDD issue comes only from broken FAT32 on dev_hdd1 partition, and/or broken extracted data there from PUP/TARs. So You don't need "creating system folders" there whatever it means. ;p This partition must stay empty with fully functional FAT32.

No one yet ever mod recovery executable. Your idea is cool anyway.

If You want keep data and fix update loop, make sector by sector image of this HDD, then format it, install fw, get ERK, then write image back and mess with dev_hdd1 on PC (I have script for that in my PS3 HDD Decryption Helper).

Thanks for your reply. I formatted the hd using the low level option the data is not important.

The question is I am not able to install any firmware because the error 8002F147. I checked every thing.

If some one, able to create custom firmware, make a modded recovery mode to extract the ERK it will help a lot of people. Once we can build the hd system file on pc.

If that so, then ERK will not help You in anything because boot loop in this case doesn't come from HDD problems. Besides that, "build the hd system file on pc" (whatever it means ;P) is not possible for various of reasons, especially on NOR models.

Error number 8002F147 points to USB issue related:

PS: Low lever formatting is not possible for around 20 or more years. If You have in mind full format, then also is pointless because it is enough to overwrite first sector to make disk been recognized as empty (because it is where PS3PT starts).

My English isn't the best:moody:. I am trying to say that if I have the ERK I can create the system files and folders using my pc and skip the update process. Make what the update process should do.

This ps3 try to start but there is no system. I need to update to it works but I am not able to install.

Is there any chance to make this happen?
I appreciate your help :encouragement:

Did you format the HDD as NTFS using full format on a PC?. Did you check that the HDD is placed and installed correctly on your PS·?. Did you check that the SATA connector is good and has no issues?. Did you check your USB drive and ports?.

Error 8002F147 means an HDD issue during FW installation.

If some one, able to create custom firmware, make a modded recovery mode to extract the ERK it will help a lot of people.

Why would you need that?. The only scenario for getting the ERK is to recover the PS3 data from the attached HDD. It won't help you fixing error 8002F147.

That's not how the PS3 works.

I did and added vtrm fix to emer init.

@GuilloteTesla In another thread he said that he have broken ROS0 which he patched. So this issue can be any, starting from bad sectors on HDD, to slow/bad sectors on USB, ending on broken flash. Besides that, he is in FSM.

Oh, yes, I remember now!.

But if the ROS0 was patched and the checks are OK (which I think they do as he can boot the console), the issue must be somewhere else.

I'm not so well lectured on FSM, just what's on the wiki and the forums. The better way would be to get out of FSM and try to do a full format/console reset and start anew.

When I started, I dumped the nor, checked it and got an error on ros0 header. I fixed this and tried to install the 4.80, actual system stored in Syscon. Unfortunately, I got the same error. So, I tried to install the firmware using the Factory/Service Mode to see the log file but I am not able to getting into FSM! I used the teensy that worked before with another console.

I thought this:

The console wasn't jailbreak before this error. It was working with 4.80OFW.

Now the console is actually running the 3.55FSM patch but the FSM is not activated. I can boot the console and initialize the emer_init.self pressing the power button normally.

I tried to use a donor dump from CECH-20xx and rebuild this using the perfirmware data option on pyrebuilder too. I checked the hash and its the same of my good dump.
Maybe there is a nor flash problem yet?

I just patched the nor but I am not able to getting into FSM.
Actually the console isn't into FSM so how can do this format/console reset?
