PS3 Modify ICON0 in PARAM.SFO

Hello everyone :encouragement:

I was modifying the PARAM.SFO with aldostools from the game data of some games that I didn't like to a .PNG.
When I tried to change the ICON0.PNG of the "covers" of games that have an animated covers, it wouldn't let me change them.:apathy:
My point is, can you change the animated covers for a static one?

When you enter a game and look at the game data it changes from an animated cover to a static one.
An example of this is Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, in the XMB it has an animated cover in game data, when you enter a game and open XMB in game, it becomes a .PNG of the game logo.

Since we are on the topic of modifying PARAM.SFO, I was modifying the names of my save games, without any problem.
Until I modified the Call of Duty: Black Ops III and it gave me an error like my save game was corrupted, of course it's not corrupted but what I'm going to do, can this be corrected? or it goes beyond what can be done "on PS3" and I would have to modify HEXADECIMAL data of the same game.:confused3:

Is it possible to edit the time the save data file was created? It appears to be a static value that doesn't move when overwritten by new data.

Thank you all, I appreciate your feedback, suggestions and help.:tears of joy:

Delete ICON1.PAM (animated icon). XMB will show ICON0.PNG (static icon)

Some animated icons have the audio embedded. Others use SND0.AT3.

Some games may have the icons localized (multi language). The file name includes a number as sufix.

You may need to delete the icon also in /dev_hdd0/game/<game id>

To edit the icons in savedata you will need to edit /dev_hdd0/home/000000**/savedata
(and other folders too depending the game type)

If the game is an ISO, you will need to rebuild the ISO.

To replace ICON0.PNG use the dimensions 320x176. Icons with larger or smaller size will be resized.
If the icon is too large it could consume more memory than allowed and will make the system unstable.

Thanks aldo, I really appreciate your answer.
I'm going to try it when I turn on my PS3, Regarding to modify the time of creation of the files, is it possible?

Outside of my knowledge, but when you modify trophies you can modify the date you got them.
This is possible BEFORE you sync them with PSN and get them through regular gaming.

It seems easier to "declare" before you get the trophy what date it was obtained than to modify it.

cheers

Only way I know of existing timestamps is this tool but must be done via PC. Apollo Save Tool is the only way to unlock trophies on the PS3 but do not recall if there was a way to edit on the PS3

Yeah i knew it, i used PS3TrophyIsGood before.

I use it as an example of if its posible to modify the time the game data/save game data is created.

Probably you could but need to make a dump of your particular system, it could be done via XMB in future maybe like in Rebug unlocking trophies manually.

Again i doubt anyone makes a tool and puts it's time into making something soo indifferent in modifying the date of a file in the XMB, its just me wondering if it's possible at all.

Thanks for the response :tranquillity:

Well Rebug's trophy unlock will not allow you to sync them after unlocked so it is not a fully working feature. The only way to edit those timestamps for syncing is TrophyisGood or Apollo Save Tool.

Your right in that, but the timestamp of the Game data and Save data are offline ones.

Soo editing these values would make sense, Again like i said, is just out of curiosity if its possible to do that.
