Hey! I've been out of the console game for a few years and my knowledge is pretty rusty. I bought the console I'm currently using second-hand, and it came with Rebug 4.83 installed. (EDIT: might actually be 4.75?? The XMB System Info and IrisMan/MultiMan appear to disagree.)
I'd like to upgrade to Evilnat 4.92, but I'm wondering if it's safe to upgrade right to a CFW made by a different developer like that?
I don't have anything of much value on this system, my concern is bricking the thing.
Furthermore, what would I lose moving to Evilnat? I remember using the Rebug Toolkit a lot back in... god, 2018? And thinking it was neat, and while it supported Evilnat last time it was updated, that hasn't been for a good while.
Sidenote: the BD laser also died in storage during the ~2 years it took me to get around to procuring a screen for it. >.> I recall that tends to cause issues? But I also hear that it's only if the drive is busted, and the drive is fine, reads DVDs fine. It's a CECH-2001A if that matters. I imagine it'll be OK but if I should be wary of that, let me know. (EDIT: Perhaps I should have looked just a little bit harder, because Evilnat has noBD versions that should work if the laser ends up being a problem, lol.)
Striking the balance between "detailed question" and "needless yapping" is hard for me lol (plus I haven't earnestly used a forum that isn't Reddit in a long time) but thanks in advance 'w'
(yeah it turns out it was Actually on 4.75; it's now on 4.84.2 REX until i can clarify this!)
