Moving save files from jailbroken ps3 to OFW ps3

Hey,
I've got a PS3 for many years and in 2018 I jailbroke it with Cobra CFW.
I synced trophies in 2018 (after the jailbreak) and not sure if it was using PSNPatch, but I didn't got banned to I guess it's ok.

Yesterday I got a PS3 from a friend that has OFW and never been hacked.
Is it possible to move the save files (legit save files, from before the jailbrake/from games that I played after the jailbreak but with disc) to the new OFW PS3? or is it too risky?

In addition, I have several trophies in my old jailbroken PS3 that I didn't sync, the last of them is from 2018. Will it be too suspicious to sync now from the jailbroken PS3 (using PSNPatch) after all these years?

Thanks!

Saves can be transferred for sure but must be the same PSN ID or you will have to resign them. As for the trophies just use PSN Patch then sync and you will be fine.

Hey bro, thanks for the answer!
1. The jailbroken ps3 and the new un-jailbroken ps3 have the same psn id. How can I transfer save files?
2. My PS3 is on CFW version 4.82. I think I'll need to update it to 4.88 before syncing, am I right? if so, how can I update cobra 4.82 to newer cfw?

  • Saves have nothing to do with firmware version...
  • Saves can be copied in XMB to USB on both ways but some saves have Copy Prohibited parram set in PARAM.SFO which must be lifted or You will not be able to import them on target console (use Apollo Save Data Tool and his unlock option; but of course make backup of it... Where are saves, read in tutorial: "Ultimate User Backup Guide").
  • Saves are encrypted by IDPS. You cannot move them to another console without re-encrypting by target IDPS (I'm not sure about this).

Hey Berion, thank you for the answer
  • I spoke about FW version when I spoke about syncing trophies. Don't I need to be at the newest version in order to connect to PSN and sync trophies?
  • Sorry, I didn't understand - all I need to do in order to transfer saves (for non-copy-prohibited saves) is to copy them to USB on the first CFW ps3 and then to copy it to the OFW PS3? isn't there any risk in that? cant take the chance that my user will be banned :(
thanks!

Thanks literally what I would have said.

For trophies syncing, in theory no (fw version can be spoofed etc.), but will be much more safe to be on newest possible fw. I strongly recommending to delete homebrew traces and move to DualBoot CFW, or if You cannot, doing the same, but install OFW/HFW.

If saves aren't encrypted by IDPS, You can use export/import option in XMB. For those with Copy Prohibited, You need unlock them, or OFW will refuse to import.

If saves are encrypted by IDPS, You need hack second console to read her IDPS, then resign save using custom owner.xml with target IDPS on first console.

IDPS is one of the per console keys.

You will not be ban because of data moving but (can be) because of connecting to SEN on hacked console.

Wow, bro thank you so much!!
90% of the save files are save files from before I jailbreaked the ps3.
1. about the save files - all the save files I want can be copied to USB. does it mean they are all not encrypted?
2. is there a risk or a problem with copying a save file of a game I legally have on a disc but played it on jailbroken ps3?
3. is there a risk or a problem with copying a save file of a game I downloaded legally with an ISO? (the games are only RDR1 GOTY, GOW ASCENTION UK)
4. regarding the trophies - can you elaborate on the delete homebrew traces and move to DualBoot CFW thing? any guides here? if it's a big risk maybe I'll drop it, can't risk my account

Ad2/3. As I said already, save data and trophy data doesn't matter (from what they comes etc. with exceptions of translated trophy sets (i.e Tales of Vesperia) and those with debug flag (unlocked/locked in XMB with QA/DEX VSH and/or DEX/DECR TargetID)). Only matter is firmware on which connecting to SEN and maybe some other homebrew traces left here and there (ad4. to much to elaborate, pushlists, cache, database etc.).

Ad1. It means they don't have Copy Prohibited parram set in PARAM.SFO. Which in result, allows You to export and import them (those which You cannot, cannot be "checkboxed" i.e Riddick save, RE5 before v1.05 etc.).

I don't know if saves are encrypted by IDPS. Probably they are... That's why I mentioned about this. If You have game for which saves is written on account with the same NP Account ID (the same user account after bind to online account) as NPAD on target console, just export it to USB, and import it on target console. If game will not reject it, it means I'm wrong and it is not encrypted (or encryption key is in PARAM.PFD). I'm to lazy to read about it on PS3 Dev Wiki... :P

can't risk my account
Then do not sync trophies, just "unlock" those saves which are "locked" and import them on target console (if they are not encrypted).

thank you for your answer friend!!!
1. I will copy all my save data to my new ps3 (even the ones that are from hakced games :O haha)
2. I won't sync trophies haha, it's not worth it!!!
3. One save game was edited by "[PS3] Save Resigner 1.4.exe" in order to change region. is there a risk in copying this specific save? worse case I won't copy it, i will live without it haha
4. If I'll copy save game without syncing trophies, won't there be a weird auto pop? :O
thanks!!! you're all amazing!!!
