PS3 MultiMan "Installation of required data failed, please restart the program!"

I tried to access mM while sys calls disabled and as expected it didn't work, so i tried reinstalling it , then i remembered sys calls are disabled 'its been a while since i used my PS3!),
Now every time i try to install mM it says "Installation of required data failed, please restart the program!"

Any idea how to fix it!
Maybe some mM files still stored somewhere and preventing it from installing! where all mM files stored on the system anyway?

Thanks.

Delete the game data or /dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608, then reinstall multiMAN again.

Launch the application with the syscalls enabled to complete the installation.

Same thing after the 'Donation screen' it show the same error!
Doe mM store other files somewhere else?

AFAIK no. Try installing an older version from brewology.

I should make it clear that i can install the pkg fine , and i can see mM on the Games section on the XMB,
The error shows up after starting mM, to be specific:
*Older mM versions, when i start mM i go through the 4 "terms of use" pages, i see the error right after the 4th page
*On the latest mM i see the error right after the "donation page"

No clue whats preventing it from working!

On a different note, i've been using my PS3 for a week now, and sMan game page (Where you select a game) randomoly starts after closing a game, sometimes it just freezes the console, i tried to uncheck the sMan shortcut from Webman Mod but after saving the setting and restarting the console, the shortcut still checked!

Are you uninstalling the previous version before installing the new version ?
I dont see you mentioning it, aldo suggested you to delete it but you didnt answered to that detail

i wonder if going to safe mode and trying Restore File System (#3) or Rebuild Database (#4) might help? i would say uninstall first, then safe mode, then reinstall.

Are you using a usb stick to install this, if so you could try ftp the pkg to hdd0 and then packages folder.
Sometimes the controller charge cable has a magnetic field near the usb port that can corrupt the installation or making it difficult to connect

Installed from both Hdd and USB drive same thing!

Try this after deleting Mm from dev_hdd0/game/BLES80608.
Manually unpack the pkg and transfer the files to dev_hdd0/game/ then rebuild the database.

If you unpack a package and copy it to game directory it wont work because its not set in the xRegistry, but rebuilding data base i have no idea if it will recognized by the system, worth a try if the rebuilding process didn't take a long time!

Hi All
I had the same problem and got round it by doing a fresh format of my usb drive then installing mM again
Hope this helps

Alright, grunts, I tried something and it worked for me.

1. Download an older version of Multiman from brewology (https://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=24# > Previous tab) and copy the .pkg file to your flash drive.
2. Plug in flash drive with older version into your PS3.
3. Disable Internet connection from the Network in the Settings
4. Install older version of multiman, I'm positive y'all know how to already.

If you are content with mmCm functioning, the tutorial ends here. But if you want to update it to latest version, follow these steps.
5. Go back to XMB if you haven't aready. Go to Network settings again, and Enable Internet connection. Afterwards, remove your flash drive from the console.
6. Open multiman and download the latest update.
7. Go back to XMB, and Disable Internet connection once again.
8. Go to package installer and install the latest version. I found mine in "Standard" which is weird because we just removed our flash drive earlier.
9. Profit.
