PS2 [MX4SIO/SIO2SD] SD Card Adapter and SD-driver for the PS2 SIO2 interface

They were present in older builds, but these are things which notably have not been improved or fixed with newer BDM releases. Whereas other games like Sakura Warw 5 were fixed over the various releases.
Just a quick update, I realized I've accidentally left some debugging stuff on in the builds I've been releasing and released a hotfix:

Some cards that were previously not working for unknown reasons seem to be working now. If you have the time / want to, could you test your sony card again and post the results here? : https://www.psx-place.com/threads/mx4sio-wip-sd-compatibility-thread.39479

Bonjour mon ami.

Hello my friend.

Would you be able to reactivate the management of the DS3 controllers (DualShock-3) via the USB/Bluetooth adapter because, at present, only the wired USB management of this type of controller remains.

A big thank you in advance.

The PADEMU mode for DualShock3/4 BT still appears to be present in OPL BDM 4.7. Does this feature no longer work for you? I've never used a DS3 with OPL so I'm not that familiar with it, sorry.

Current compatibility issues as of OPL BDM 4.7 (hotfix):
SLPM_620.07 Gradius 3 & 4 - crashes on boot
SLPM_624.62 Gradius 5 - crashes on boot
SLPM_650.80 Tokimeki Memorial 3 - activating the synthetic speech system causes a crash
SLPM_661.68 Ryu ga Gotoku - major stutters in FMVs
SLPM_743.01 Ryu ga Gotoku 2 - major stutters in FMVs
SLUS_219.30 Sakura Wars 5 - stutters in FMVs

You mentioned Gradius 3,4,5 and Ryu ga Gotoku 2 had issues before. Are the issues with Ryu ga Gotoku and Sakura Wars 5 exclusive to BDM 4.7 HF or are they present with older builds as well?

I may have asked this already but are you by chance using a ps2 slim 75k or greater?

They were present in 4.5 also.

I have a PS2 Slim 70012.

I can tell it works with 4.5 (wireless), make sure it's set to BT and enabled for 1P or 2P, i had issues where it would reset back to USB for some reason.

Only game for met that doesn't boot but works fine from USB and HDD: Crash Bandicoot The Wrath Of Cortex.
The Thing- Boots but hangs when new game is started.
Super Bust A Move- Both single player/multi player work for 1 level, then hangs on splash screen.

I went back to 4.5 but these games were also tested with 4.7 hotfix and various modes.

The PADEMU functionality in BlueTooth (via USB) is present and works well for me in the OPL BDM3 but it no longer works in the OPL BDM4 and above. Only the PADEMU functionality now works in USB connection (therefore wired) for all my real DS3 controllers, the BT/USB adapter does not allow any SONY DS3 controller (old and real SONY). Can you fix this problem, please!!!

It works with BDM 4.5 for me.

None of the games installed on a 32GB or 128GB SDCard accept the DS3 in BT mode on USB from the BDM4, it only works on a direct USB connection for me. What is the cause, can it be fixed (@qnox32) ???

Hello everyone! I'm kinda new to this MX4SIO thingy. Got my FMBC memory card together with MX4SIO card and a TF 64GB card. Inside that microSD card there were some games already in there once I got it from my vendor. I wanted to actually add more games into it so I inserted my TF card inside my phone and a pop up appeared on my screen requesting me to format my card in order to use it on my phone. I did that and tried to add another ISO game file inside the memory card storage. Once I tried it back on my PS2 I saw that it wouldn't even run anymore and nothing would pop up while choosing OPNPS2LD for MX4SIO. What should I do in order for it to work again for me? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Because you formatted the card on the phone it gonna only work with the phone now (it also encrypts it when formatting i think).
You should only format it from your PC instead.

Find a setup guide on YouTube and start from scratch. There's no telling what happened to that SD card when you formatted it. In the future never use a phone to do that kind of thing; use a PC so you can actually have control over what format the SD card ends up in.

Is there a difference between Takeshi's PCB files and the Bitfunx versions?

I was reading they went with lower quality parts but I'm not sure if that made much of a difference.

I know the MC2SIO by Helder had caused controversy because he removed a lot of components to probably lower the cost and from the posts it seems they have some issues.

Would any one recommend them or are we better off ordering the pcbs?

I have both a bitfunx and helder-made MX4SIO. I have never observed any difference in performance between them.

Hey there! I have noticed a "regression" of sorts in using mx4sio with OPL BDM and/or daily github builds. I have a couple of russian double-language pirate PS2 discs that I have made iso dumps of and copied said dumps to a microsd that I use in mx4sio, they use game loaders that are essentially modified official PAL PS2 demo-disc menus to load two copies of the game, one translated and one original. Recently, I decided that it'd be a good idea to upgrade my OPL install to the latest version (spoiler alert: it was not a good idea), so I tried three different OPL versions: the official one from github (v1.2.0-Beta-1979-d26da79), BDM 4.7.1 version posted not too long ago in this same thread and another one of the BDM test builds, BDM_CC_TEST_V2. All of them didn't work, instead of launching into the demo menu, they just load to white screen, although, with one of the older builds, can't say which one specifically (because I overwrote that one "good" version that was on my memcard with the newer one), but I have some older OPL builds left on my PC for me to test. Once I test them, I'll come back with results.

Also, my ps2 model is 75k slim and I'm using a custom-ordered self-assembled mx4sio PCBs

Hi Just wanted to ask can you save to the mx4sio sd cad or do you need to take out the fmcb card after booting and then put a normal one in for saving?

Today I tried lastest OPL 4.7.1 and my MC2SIO doesn't seem to load. Also, I tried to launch again the OPL I was using, an old 1.2.0 beta with BDM support, and that OPL is not even loading. I don't know if my MC2SIO is dead, I don't think so, but I can't even launch my previous OPL build I was using. Any clue about that?

EDIT

OK, I think it's because the USB drive being in. Is there a way to use MX4SIO with USB inserted?
