My first syscon readings

So my first syscon read has resulted in the error code 2120 and 3013. Google states the following.... Lack of voltage to these DC/DC converters downstream of IC6301 suggests F6302 has blown.

Thus resulted in me piggybacking on some tantalum capacitors. I have done this to around 7 consoles, the other 6 are fine. I removed the Panasonic 6.3v 470uf capacitors and the error remains. So it would seem I need to check the fuses on the motherboard.

Any help or input would be appreciated [emoji120]

The fuses are not hard to see, they are numbered beginning with the letter F printed on the motherboard. :D

Okay, I sorted that one out, it was a blob of solder causing a short on the motherboard.

So now I see how easy it is to read the Syscon on these phat backwards compatible playstation 3 consoles I decided to read some codes from another one. This console was purchased on eBay, sold as blu-ray drive not working. So I replaced the laser and its all good now. However I couldn't determine whether it had been opened before down to the MB. It looked like stock thermal paste but I couldn't be sure if this console had been opened down to the motherboard. Console is only 44 days old but its better to be safe than sorry.

So I have read the syson, 1001 comes up 13 times. 2022, 3 times along with one off codes of 2020, 2120, 1004 and 2203.

Now what I'm looking for is any cause for concern or is thus normal for a console that supposedly has never had YLOD or GLOD. I did get a shutdown after 3 hours of game play in TLOU however nearly all the phat consoles I have tested shut down when reaching the underground train station so I'm not to concerned with this.

Any codes here ring any alarm bells?

Possible that it registered those codes from the shut down. Gpu/cpu starving for voltage maybe?

Okay, well with the tantalums piggybacked on (2 on the CPU and 1 on the RSX) it hasn't shut down since. I'm confident this has never had a serious error, it's only 42 days total power on time so I think this one is all good.
