PS3 NEED HELP 1MBPS

just be happy that you're getting above 360 speeds. I had to leave my system on for two days straight to get everything off of a 1TB hdd. I set temp thresholds, so it was quite noisy . :-P

no over wifi was just a test i understand that and im getting around 5mbps with external hdd what should i be getting through usb transfer??

All depends on interface types, this is what I get for example:

PC Internal HDD to PS3 Internal HDD via LAN FTP: 10mbps -15mbps (Usually 11mbps)
PC External HDD via USB 2.0 to PS3 Internal HDD via LAN FTP: 4mbps - 8mbps (Usually 5mbps)
PC External HDD via USB 3.0 to PS3 Internal HDD via LAN FTP: 10mbps - 15mbps (Usually 11mbps)

PC Internal HDD to PS3 External HDD via USB 2.0 via LAN FTP: 4mbps - 8mbps (Usually 5mbps)
PC External HDD via USB 2.0 to PS3 External HDD via USB 2.0 via LAN FTP: 4mbps - 8mps (Usually 5mbps)
PC External HDD via USB 3.0 to PS3 External HDD via USB 2.0 via LAN FTP: 4mbps - 8mbps (Usually 5mbps)

And the same for these transfers in the opposite direction. And this is using a router that has now internet connection, WiFi is disabled and all connections to it are hard-lined (LAN Ethernet) Separate router for internet via Wifi connection so there is no data traffic other than the FPT service running through the LAN.

I would strongly advise not transferring too much to the internal hdd, because ftp is given low priorty. if too much is going on, the system will drop the connection until you restart. I believe this is true for any ftp method on the system. and, definitely try not to transfer a lot of small files or it's liable to happen or truncate corrupting the file.

Yep. Tried to transfer i think it was about 200 small files from the PS3 and filezilla gave up after about 50 - 70 and was disconnected from the PS3 and same went for vice versa :D

I did backup my entire ps3 hdd, but I have no idea if it backed everything. now, I just backup licenses, isos, and pkg files. it's much easier with the xbox 360 since those come as container files. however, I don't remember what it's like with a jtag rip. with those, I just transfer to an external hdd. ;)

yess everything is all good now getting 11mbps via lan cable i had to remove multiman and install ftp blackbox to get those speeds THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT HAS TRYED TO HELP ME HAPPY NEW YEAR

Glad you got it sorted.

A bit odd you had to remove MultiMAN though. Another good thing to use is WebMAN, its FTP is always active meaning you can transfer stuff to and from your PS3 while say watching a bluray movie or playing a game.
