im on a slim rebug 4.86.1 lite no bd cfw, my bd drive is no good. multiman loads up fine and pkg games are working fine. my question is, is a game disc required to be inserted in the ps3 to run multiman backups? obviously i cant because of the bad drive. and if so, if i convert them to pkg, will they still require a disc to be inserted? thanks!

no disc needs be in drive but there are these important details from Joonie of Team Rebug

To users with NoBD.

Backup compatibility is very limited on this firmware and there's currently no better solution other than a hardware repair. You won't be able to load any game files from USB storage media, but you can run installed PKG games. PS2 emulation is not supported either. The recommended way to run this firmware is to disable COBRA and use IRISMAN without mamba payload as your main manager, Managunz + sky payload may work

I am on cfw no bd 4.82 ferrox and most of my games load fine even from usb. I am using managunz. And use fan control to control the temperature

i think joonie means no external gamedata. he does work on ferrox though. he is part of rebug team. maybe ferrox has additonal tweaks.
